Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements
- Oversee general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations
- Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and financial reviews
- Lead and mentor the finance and accounting teams
- Develop team skills and improve departmental efficiency
- Provide insights to senior management for strategic decision-making
- Evaluate financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them
- Manage cash flow to ensure liquidity and operational efficiency
- Oversee investments, banking relationships, and funding arrangements
Requirements
- Chartered Accountant with 5+ years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, and financial operations in Section 8 organizations and FCRA-compliant entities
- Proven track record in managerial or controller roles, including 2+ years of leading teams of 5 or more
- Proficient in accounting software such as Tally, ERP systems, or similar platforms, along with advanced Excel skills
