Finance manager of Interior fitout company
Job Title: Finance Manager
Department: Finance & Accounts

Location: Bengaluru
Job Summary:
The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial health of the company by managing accounting operations, financial planning, budgeting, cash flow, taxation, statutory compliance, project costing, and financial reporting. The role requires close coordination with project managers, procurement, and senior management to ensure profitability, cost control, and timely financial decision-making in a project-driven interior fit-out business.
Key Responsibilities:
A) Financial Management
1. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
2. Develop and monitor company budgets and financial forecasts.
3. Analyze financial performance and recommend corrective actions.
4. Manage working capital and cash flow requirements.
5. Ensure financial records are accurate and comply with accounting standards.
6. Project Cost Control, Monitor project budgets, costs, and profitability.
7. Review project-wise revenue, expenses, and margins.
8. Support project managers with financial analysis and cost tracking.
9. Identify cost overruns and recommend corrective measures.
10. Prepare project financial reports for management review.
B) Accounts & Reporting
1. Oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger.
2. Ensure timely customer invoicing and collection follow-up.
3. Approve vendor payments and monitor outstanding liabilities.
4. Reconcile bank accounts and major balance sheet accounts.
5. Prepare monthly MIS reports and financial dashboards.
6. Budgeting & Forecasting
7. Prepare annual operating budgets.
8. Forecast cash flow and funding requirements.
9. Monitor budget utilization across departments.
10. Conduct variance analysis and explain deviations.
C) Taxation & Compliance:
1. Ensure compliance with VAT/GST, Corporate Tax, TDS, and other statutory regulations.
2. Coordinate with auditors for annual audits.
3. Prepare tax filings and statutory reports.
4. Maintain compliance with local financial regulations.
D) Banking & Treasury:
1. Manage banking relationships.
Handle bank guarantees, letters of credit, and project financing.
1. Monitor cash balances and optimize liquidity.
2. Negotiate banking facilities when required.
3. Procurement & Inventory Finance
4. Monitor procurement costs and payment schedules.
5. Review inventory valuation and stock reconciliation.
6. Support procurement team with financial evaluations.
7. Ensure purchase controls are followed.
E) Internal Controls:
1. Develop and implement financial policies and procedures.
2. Strengthen internal controls to prevent financial risks.
3. Ensure approval workflows are maintained.
4. Conduct periodic financial reviews and internal audits.
F) Team Management:
1. Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team.
2. Allocate work responsibilities and monitor performance.
3. Train staff on financial systems and procedures.
4. Coordinate with external auditors and consultants.
G) Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Commerce.
Professional qualification such as CA, ACCA, CPA, CMA, or MBA (Finance) preferred.
8–12 years of finance and accounting experience.
Minimum 3–5 years in the Interior Fit-Out, Construction, Contracting, or Engineering industry preferred.
Required Skills
Strong financial planning and analysis skills.
Expertise in project accounting and job costing.
Knowledge of IFRS/GAAP and statutory compliance.
Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Odoo, or similar).
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Ability to work under tight project deadlines.
Must have experience in ZOHO software.

Accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
Project profitability and margin improvement.

Reduction in outstanding payables.
