Incorporated in the Abu Dhabi Global Market, Abu Dhabi's international financial centre, AT commenced commercial operations in December 2020 and currently trades crude oil, LNG, sulphur and emissions. It plans to expand the range of products its trades over time as well as extend its geographical expansion by opening offices overseas (Singapore and Geneva are to commence trading operations by end of 2024, Houston will be following in the near future.
JOB PURPOSE
ADNOC Trading Asia (AT Singapore) is mandated to create additional value for the ADNOC Trading group by unlocking new market opportunities, optimizing flows, and generating independent trading P&L in Asia.
The Finance Manager is responsible for leading all accounting, tax, financial reporting, and compliance activities for AT Asia. The role oversees the development and implementation of accounting and tax strategies, ensures adherence to internal controls, and supports both short‑term and long‑term planning in alignment with the company's strategic growth goals.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Leadership
- Establish and implement accounting and tax objectives, strategy, and standards.
- Develop policies, procedures, and budgets for accounting, tax, and treasury activities.
- Ensure robust internal controls and safeguard financial operations.
- Prepare AT Singapore financials and coordinate with external auditors.
- Support 5‑year business plan development and report regularly to VP Accounting & Tax and relevant committees.
Reporting
- Prepare monthly financial reports, management packs, and analysis.
- Produce reports covering trading volumes, VAR, OPEX, liquidity, HR KPIs, and other business metrics.
- Ensure timely, accurate financial reporting and variance analysis.
Tax
- Prepare and review tax filings across applicable jurisdictions.
- Conduct tax research and advise management on regulatory implications.
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants.
- Implement tax planning initiatives to optimize tax liabilities.
Budgeting & Planning
- Lead annual operating and business plan budget preparation.
- Support long‑term and short‑term business planning, forecasting, and performance analysis.
- Monitor and manage department budgets and performance metrics.
Risk Management
- Assess accounting, audit, planning, and treasury risks.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory reforms, accounting standards, and internal policies.
- Oversee financial business continuity and disaster‑recovery processes.
Policies, Systems & Processes
- Develop and maintain department policies, SOPs, systems, and internal controls.
- Promote best‑practice frameworks aligned with international standards.
People & Performance
- Drive a performance‑led culture and cascade KPIs.
- Develop talent, support succession planning, and promote Emiratization.
- Recommend organizational structure improvements.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Promote innovation and efficiency initiatives.
- Identify and implement process improvements aligned with best practices.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's Degree preferred (Finance or related field).
- Professional accounting qualification: ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, CFA, or equivalent.
Minimum Experience
- 8+ years of experience in financial reporting, budgeting, accounting, auditing, or related functions.
- 4+ years in energy, trading, or commodities sector with hands‑on experience in financial and exchange requirements.
- Prior experience as Financial Officer/Controller/Director preferred.
- Experience in a trading company is highly advantageous.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of integrated oil industry economics and trading operations.
- Expertise in financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and corporate finance.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder‑management abilities.
- Proficient in SAP and CTRM platforms (preferred).
- Demonstrated leadership, collaboration, accountability, and integrity.
