BricknBolt is a managed marketplace providing construction services. We are category creators and front-runners in space. We are solving one of the most complex business problems and creating an ecosystem of trust for the Stakeholders, Customers, Construction professionals, and Material vendors. Construction has been a highly unorganized and severely tech-deficit industry globally. We are just not trying to organize but disrupt the industry completely using technology and process - creating the playbook for the industry.

● Indian real estate is earmarked to be a $650 billion market in 2025 and a $1 trillion worth sector in 2030. With 85%+ construction still unorganized in India, Brick&Bolt is on a path to capture the massive and super-broken market using our technology and processes.

● Expanding to more than 12 cities in 15 months. With the Series A2 round, Brick&Bolt has raised a total of $16 million. Earlier Sequoia Surge, Foundamental, HDFC Capital Advisors Limited and Stride Ventures have invested in Brick&Bolt. In Jan 2023, we raised Series A2 Funding of $10million from Accel and Celesta Capital.

About the role:

We are looking for a Finance Controller to lead the company's financial operations, reporting, compliance, and controls. This role will be responsible for ensuring financial accuracy, strengthening internal controls, and partnering with business teams to drive profitability and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
  • Ensure accuracy of general ledger, AP/AR, and bank reconciliations
  • Drive project-level P&L tracking across all active business units/projects
  • Review and finalize MIS reports, variance analysis, and management dashboards
  • Ensure adherence to Ind AS and accounting standards
  • Lead coordination with statutory and internal auditors
  • Review contracts for financial and compliance risks
  • Design and implement robust internal financial controls
  • Establish and monitor SOPs across finance processes
  • Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies
  • Drive audit readiness and governance frameworks
  • Lead ERP implementation and optimization (Zoho Books or similar)
  • Drive automation and digitization of finance processes
  • Improve efficiency in billing, collections, and reporting cycles
  • Manage cash flow planning and forecasting
  • Optimize working capital cycles
  • Oversee vendor payments and receivables management
  • Handle escrow accounts and milestone-based billing structures
  • Partner with procurement and operations for cost optimization
  • Support fundraising, due diligence, and investor reporting
  • Provide insights on unit economics, margins, and cost controls

Qualifications & Experience

  • CA (Chartered Accountant) – Mandatory
  • 4–6 years of post-qualification experience
  • Experience in a Series B+ startup preferred
  • Experience managing a team (3–8 members)

Technical Skills

  • Strong expertise in: Ind AS, GST, TDS, corporate taxation
  • Hands-on with: Tally / Zoho Books / ERP systems
  • Advanced skills in: Excel, financial modeling, dashboards

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Articleship in a reputed CA firm
  • 1–3 years in Big 4 (Audit / TAS) + startup experience
  • Experience in building finance processes from scratch or scaling them
  • Strong exposure to controllership + business finance
