Role Brief:
We are looking for a
Finance Associate: India & US Tax to join our Finance team. This role is critical for ensuring seamless tax compliance and reporting across our primary operating jurisdictions. You will be responsible for navigating the complexities of both the Indian and US tax landscapes, ensuring accurate filings, and supporting global tax planning initiatives. The ideal candidate is a qualified Chartered Accountant with a strong grasp of cross-border tax implications and a proactive approach to managing regulatory requirements in a fast-scaling global organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and support the end-to-end tax compliance for both India and US entities, including corporate income tax returns (Form 1120 for US and relevant ITR forms for India).
- Oversee the calculation and timely payment of advance taxes, estimated taxes, and withholding taxes (TDS in India and US withholding requirements).
- Lead the preparation of tax provisions and deferred tax computations in accordance with ASC 740 (US GAAP) and relevant Ind AS standards.
- Facilitate India-specific compliance, including GST reconciliations, annual returns, and tax audit documentation.
- Support the Finance Controller in managing Transfer Pricing documentation and ensuring compliance with arm's length pricing for intercompany transactions.
- Assist with global tax audits and assessments by preparing detailed workpapers, responding to notices, and liaising with external tax consultants in both regions.
- Monitor and implement changes in tax laws (such as Finance Act updates in India or federal/state changes in the US) to ensure continuous compliance.
- Research and document technical tax positions related to permanent establishment, DTAA benefits, and international reporting (e.g., Forms 5471, 8858).
Job Requirement
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is mandatory.
- Minimum 2 to 3 years of post-qualification experience in corporate tax compliance, ideally handling both India and US tax jurisdictions.
- Strong working knowledge of Indian Tax Laws (Direct & Indirect) and US Federal/State Income Tax regulations.
- Hands-on experience with tax accounting standards (ASC 740 / Ind AS 12).
- Familiarity with international tax concepts, including Double Taxation Avoidance Agreements (DTAA), Subpart F, and Transfer Pricing.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel/Google Sheets for complex tax computations and reconciliations.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with global teams and external regulatory authorities.
