Finance and Account - Costing (CMA)

Job Purpose (Summary / One – Line Description)

► Support costing activities including product costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation to ensure accurate financial reporting and cost control

► Assist in providing cost insights to improve operational efficiency and support business decision-making.

Duties/Responsibilities/Activities:

Strategy & Planning

► Support preparation of cost data and analysis for budgeting and forecasting exercises

► Assist in evaluating cost structures and identifying opportunities for cost optimization

► Provide inputs for pricing decisions based on cost analysis

Costing Policies & Procedures:

➤ Ensure adherence to standard costing policies and procedures

➤ Assist in maintaining documentation related to costing processes and methodologies

➤ Support implementation and improvement of costing systems and processes

Costing Process Management:

➤ Prepare and maintain product cost sheets and BOM (Bill of Materials) costing

➤ Perform variance analysis (material, labor, overhead) and highlight key deviations

➤ Assist in inventory valuation and reconciliation in coordination with stores and accounts team

➤ Ensure accurate allocation of overheads and absorption costing

➤ Support monthly closing activities related to costing and inventory.

MIS & Reporting:

➤ Prepare periodic cost reports, dashboards, and analysis for management review

➤ Track key cost drivers and provide actionable insights

➤ Support preparation of standard vs actual cost comparisons

Audits & Compliance:

➤ Assist in cost audits and statutory audits by providing required data and documentation

➤ Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and internal controls

➤ Support internal audit processes and address audit observations.

Continuous Improvement:

➤ Identify process gaps and suggest improvements in costing systems and reporting

➤ Support automation initiatives in costing and MIS reporting

➤ Stay updated with costing techniques and industry best practices.

Coordination & Support:

➤ Work closely with production, procurement, and stores teams for accurate cost data

➤ Coordinate with finance team for reconciliation and reporting requirements

➤ Support cross-functional teams with cost-related inputs and analysis

Qualification: • B.Com / M.Com with ICWA / CMA Cleared or CA with Costing Experience.

• MBA (Finance) – Preferred

Experience: 5-8 Years

Other Skillsets (Technical/Behavioral):

Function/ Technical

• Knowledge of costing methods (standard costing, marginal costing, absorption costing)

• Understanding of BOM, inventory valuation, and variance analysis

• Knowledge of accounting principles and cost audit requirements

• Hands-on experience with SAP- FICO System is must

• Strong analytical and numerical skills

• Proficiency in MS Excel.
