About The Role
As a CBRE Finance Analyst, you will apply basic cash and accrual accounting fundamentals to prepare, evaluate, maintain, and deliver complete and accurate financial reports for a portfolio of clients and properties.
This job is part of the Financial Strategy and Operations job function. They are responsible for maintaining accounting, financial, and reporting policies and controls.
We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Analyst to oversee accounting and financial management for a complex international real estate portfolio. This role will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with corporate and client requirements, and providing strategic financial guidance across multiple regions.
The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise, stakeholder management skills, and the ability to coordinate with geographically dispersed teams in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
As the Assistant Manager on this client account, some of your responsibilities will include;
Financial Management & Reporting
- Manage all aspects of the client's real estate finance function, including Balance Sheet, P&L, and cash flow, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable accounting standards.
- Oversee accounting for an international portfolio, ensuring consistency in financial treatment across regions and alignment with global policies.
- Deliver monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc financial reports within specified timelines and client-defined formats.
- Perform monthly variance analysis (MTD & YTD), providing clear commentary and actionable insights on discrepancies.
- Support forecasting and financial planning cycles, including monthly and quarterly forecasts, with detailed performance analysis.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead the annual budgeting process for the portfolio in collaboration with the Regional Alliance Director and functional leads.
- Create and manage the annual real estate budget, monitor actuals vs. plan, and provide variance insights.
- Ensure proactive financial planning and cost control across regions.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Provide strategic financial advice and direction to internal teams and regional stakeholders.
- Act as a key point of contact for finance-related matters with the client, ensuring transparency and trust.
- Ensure adherence to client corporate processes and reporting timetables.
Operational Finance & Coordination
- Liaise with local corporate finance teams for:
- Preparation and dispatch of client invoices
- Vendor payments and funding confirmations
- Ensure smooth coordination across multiple geographies, addressing local finance requirements and regulatory considerations.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and manage a team of finance professionals, ensuring:
- Clear objective setting and performance management
- Effective prioritization aligned with client and corporate deliverables
- Continuous development and upskilling of team members
- Lead functional and transition meetings, setting clear goals and ensuring alignment across stakeholders.
Required Knowledge And Skills
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and international accounting practices
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in finance and accounting roles, preferably managing international portfolios
- Experience managing multi-country / international portfolios
- Proven expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Excellent spoken and written English communication skills
- Ability to lead, influence, and manage cross-functional and remote teams
- Experience in real estate finance (preferred)
- High attention to detail with strong analytical capability
- Knowledge of IFRS/GAAP will be an advantage.
Qualificationsand Education
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in accounting or finance
