FINANCE & ACCOUNTS MANAGER

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Finance & Accounts Manager to oversee the finance, accounting, taxation, audit, treasury, and reporting functions of a Singapore-based company with regional business operations.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring strong financial governance, regulatory compliance, accurate financial reporting, effective cash flow management, and business support to senior management.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Manage the full spectrum of accounting functions including General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, and Inventory Accounting.
- Ensure timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing of accounts.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, financial statements, and variance analysis reports.
- Review accounting entries and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
Budgeting & Financial Planning
- Assist management in preparing annual budgets, forecasts, and business plans.
- Monitor actual performance against budgets and provide detailed analysis of variances.
- Support strategic decision-making through financial analysis and business insights.
Cash Flow & Treasury Management
- Monitor daily cash flow and liquidity requirements.
- Prepare rolling cash flow forecasts and funding plans.
- Manage banking relationships and banking facilities.
- Monitor foreign currency exposure and recommend appropriate treasury actions.
- Ensure timely payments to suppliers, employees, statutory authorities, and business partners.
Audit & Internal Controls
- Coordinate and manage annual external audits.
- Liaise with auditors and ensure timely completion of statutory audits.
- Develop and strengthen internal controls, policies, and financial procedures.
- Ensure compliance with corporate governance requirements and internal control frameworks.
- Implement best practices in financial risk management.
Taxation & Regulatory Compliance
- Oversee corporate tax, GST, withholding tax, and other statutory tax matters.
- Coordinate with tax consultants and advisors on compliance matters.
- Ensure timely submission of all statutory returns and regulatory filings.
- Monitor changes in tax laws and accounting regulations and assess business impact.
Management Reporting
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports for senior management.
- Develop dashboards and financial performance indicators.
- Provide profitability analysis by business unit, product category, and market.
- Present financial insights and recommendations to management.
Process Improvement & Systems
- Review and improve accounting and finance processes.
- Support implementation and enhancement of ERP and financial systems.
- Drive automation initiatives to improve reporting efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure proper documentation of finance processes and controls.
Team Management
- Supervise and guide finance and accounting staff.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching and development.
- Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Educational Requirements
- Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is mandatory.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related discipline.
- Additional professional qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, CFA, or equivalent will be advantageous.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience as a Chartered Accountant.
- Experience in accounting, finance, audit, taxation, treasury, and financial reporting.
- Prior experience in managing full finance functions within a medium-to-large organization.
- Experience dealing with external auditors, tax authorities, and financial institutions.
- Experience in regional or multi-entity operations will be an advantage.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS).
- Good understanding of Singapore taxation and GST regulations.
- Strong financial modelling, budgeting, and forecasting skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting systems.
- Experience with inventory accounting and commercial operations will be advantageous.
