Role Overview:
We are looking for a Finance & Accounting Operations Manager to own the day-to-day financial engine of Fulfillment IQ across India, Canada, and the US.
This is a hands-on leadership role. You will:
- Lead a small finance team (bookkeeping, invoicing, payroll support, basic analysis)
- Own month-end close, reconciliations, and management reporting
- Coordinate with CA/CPA firms in multiple countries for tax, compliance, and statutory filings
- Manage cash flow, and movement of funds between entities, and ensure everything is properly documented and auditable
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Commerce, or related field
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in finance/accounting, with:
- Hands-on month-end close and management reporting experience
- Experience working with multi-entity or multi-country structures (preferred)
- Strong understanding of:
- Accounting principles (Indian GAAP; exposure to US/Canadian GAAP is a plus)
- Variance analysis, accruals, and intercompany transactions
- Proficiency in:
- QuickBooks (or similar accounting software)
- Excel (lookups, pivots, basic modeling) and basic reporting tools
- Experience coordinating with:
- External auditors, CA/CPA firms, and tax advisors
- Proven ability to:
- Lead a small team
- Work independently, prioritize, and deliver in a fast-paced environment
Nice to Have:
- Experience in consulting, IT services, or SaaS companies
- Exposure to transfer pricing, intercompany agreements, or cross-border structures
- Experience working with CFOs or investor-facing finance teams
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and perform bookkeeping tasks, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes and ensure compliance with GAAP
- Prepare and review financial statements, variance analysis, and performance reports
- Lead and coordinate external audits and tax preparation with CPA firms
- Supervise and guide offshore accounting teams, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in workflows
- Develop and implement process improvements for financial operations and reporting
- Support financial planning activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis
- Ensure timely and accurate compliance with tax and regulatory requirements
- Act as a backup for key Controller activities when needed
What Success Looks Like in the First 90 Days:
By the end of Month 1
- Understand FIQ's:
- Entity structure (India, Canada, US)
- Current accounting processes, tools, and reporting structure
- Build strong working relationships with:
- Head of Operations - India
- CFO / fractional CFO
- External CA/CPA firms and internal finance staff
- Complete a review of current bookkeeping and reconciliation practices and identify key gaps/risks
By the end of Month 2
- Take ownership of the month-end close calendar and drive on-time closes
- Improve reconciliation hygiene:
- All key balance sheet accounts reconciled and documented
- Have clear visibility into AR, AP, and cash positions across entities
- Begin leading interactions with CA/CPA partners for upcoming filings or reviews
By the end of Month 3
- Deliver accurate, timely monthly financial statements with clear variance explanations
- Implement at least 2-3 process improvements:
- E.g., faster close, better invoice accuracy, fewer manual steps, or improved documentation
- Provide reliable cash flow forecasts and working capital insights to leadership
- Demonstrate audit and compliance readiness:
- Organized documentation, clear controls, and no surprises on key accounts
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Month-End Close Efficiency: Timely completion of the monthly financial close within the defined cycle time
- Reconciliation Accuracy: High accuracy and on-time completion of balance sheet reconciliations
- Forecast Reliability: Accurate revenue, cash flow, and expense forecasting with minimal variance
- Working Capital Management: Effective control of cash conversion cycle and liquidity metrics
- Compliance & Audit Readiness: Zero material audit findings and 100% adherence to regulatory deadlines
