Position Overview
You'll build finance systems from the ground up at a well-funded deeptech startup, managing comprehensive accounting operations that support rapid growth. This role offers direct exposure to startup finance operations and fundraising processes while working alongside seasoned technology veterans. You'll transition from traditional CA firm experience into the dynamic startup ecosystem, maintaining strong financial discipline and compliance standards in an innovative environment.
Role & Responsibilities
- You maintain comprehensive books of accounts, including journal entries, ledgers, and monthly reconciliations
- You handle daily accounting operations using Tally/ERP software with accuracy and timeliness
- You execute bank, cash, and vendor reconciliation ensuring zero discrepancies
- You generate and track invoices while coordinating collections with internal teams and clients
- You manage GST compliance, including return filing, reconciliations, and handling tax notices
- You support PF and statutory compliance activities, including returns, challans, and documentation
- You prepare monthly MIS reports and assist in month-end and year-end financial closing processes
Must Have Criteria
- CA/CMA Inter qualification or M.Com degree from recognized institution
- 1-3 years of total experience in accounting and finance operations
- Minimum 1 year experience working with reputed CA firm or chartered accountancy practice
- Proficiency in Tally /ERP software and advanced MS Excel functions
- Knowledge of GST compliance procedures and return filing processes
- Experience with PF and statutory compliance including ESI, PT, and TDS
- Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate books of accounts and perform reconciliations
Nice to Have
- Direct exposure to statutory audits and tax filing procedures
- Experience managing finance operations for multiple clients or business entities
- Previous startup or technology company finance experience
- Knowledge of digital payment systems and fintech compliance requirements
