Introduction: Operations - AWD

Team responsible for implementing and scaling Alternate Wetting & Drying (AWD) rice programmes

across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The team identifies partners and regions, onboards farmers,

deploys and manages field teams, and collaborates with government bodies and local institutions.

The function ensures the adoption of the climate-smart irrigation practice, Alternate Wetting & Drying

(AWD), strictly following company protocols. A strong focus is placed on maintaining high-quality data,

accountability, and evidence collection. All operations are designed for growth, rapid scale-up, and

the ability to deploy projects on demand ensuring farmer impact, climate outcomes, and revenue

generation through high-quality carbon credits.

  • About the Role The Field Investigator is responsible for on-ground implementation of the AWD rice program. This includes mobilizing farmers, ensuring correct installation and use of field water tubes, and verifying adherence to AWD irrigation protocols. The Senior Field Field Investigator additionally supervises other Field Investigators and coordinates with the Territory Manager to ensure alignment. Job Responsibilities
  • Mobilize and onboard farmers and FPOs into regenerative agriculture projects.
  • Ensure installation and correct use of field water tubes and adherence to AWD irrigation

protocols.

  • Collect, validate, and upload MRV data (such as field water level readings, irrigation logs, and

crop stage observations) using digital tools.

  • Provide training and handholding support to farmers on the Alternate Wetting & Drying (AWD)

protocol, including proper use of field water tubes.

  • Monitor crop progress, document activities, and flag field-level issues.
  • Support fraud prevention by ensuring transparency and proper documentation.

Skills Required

  • For Senior Field Field Investigator: Bachelor's degree/diploma in Agriculture, Rural

Development, or related field.

  • For Field Field Investigator: Graduate/Higher Secondary with relevant field experience.
  • 1–3 years of experience in agriculture extension, rural development, or NGO fieldwork.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work closely with farmers.
  • Comfort with using digital tools (mobile apps, GPS, data entry).
  • Willingness to travel extensively across villages.
  • Knowledge of regenerative agriculture practices is a strong advantage.
  • Fluency in Telugu (spoken and written) MANDATORY, and working knowledge of English for

documentation is required.
