Field Energy Technician HVAC Mechanical & Electrical Inspections

Location: Coimbatore/Travelling (abroad)

Employment Type: Full-time / Contract

Role Overview

We are seeking a Field Energy Technician to perform onsite HVAC mechanical and electrical inspections across operational facilities. The role is focused on accurate field-level measurement and observation using professional instruments.

This is a data capture role only. All collected data will be handed over to the data analytics team. No analysis, calculations, interpretation, or reporting is required.

Key Responsibilities

HVAC Mechanical Measurements

  • Measure airflow, temperature, and humidity to assess HVAC operating conditions
  • Perform surface heat gain and heat loss checks using IR thermometers and thermal cameras
  • Identify ventilation leakage and airflow inefficiencies
  • Monitor refrigerant condition when required
  • Conduct noise and vibration checks where applicable

Electrical & Energy Measurements

  • Measure voltage, current, power, and power factor of HVAC equipment
  • Log energy consumption trends using energy or data loggers
  • Assess power quality including harmonic distortion and phase imbalance
  • Inspect electrical panels and identify hotspots using thermal cameras

Data Handling & Site Execution

  • Capture and submit accurate, unaltered raw measurement data
  • Follow site safety rules, SOPs, and PPE requirements
  • Escalate abnormal observations without interpretation
  • No client interaction, analysis, or reporting responsibilities
Instruments Used
  • Anemometer (air velocity / CFM)
  • Thermo-hygrometer (temperature and relative humidity)
  • IR thermometer (surface temperature differentials)
  • Thermal camera (HVAC and electrical inspections)
  • Smoke pen (ventilation leakage detection)
  • Manifold gauge (refrigerant pressure)
  • Clamp meter (motor current)
  • Power analyzer (kW, kVA, power factor, THD, imbalance)
  • Energy or data logger (kWh trends)
  • Sound and vibration meter (optional)
Qualifications
  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, HVAC Technology, or Energy Management
  • Hands-on experience with HVAC and electrical field measurement instruments
  • Strong attention to detail and site discipline
  • Comfortable working onsite in live operational facilities
