Role Description The Field Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Hyderabad, supporting field investigations and data collection for water, geological, and environmental projects. Responsibilities include assisting senior field staff in conducting site surveys, groundwater and hydrological measurements, sampling, and basic geophysical and geotechnical observations. The role involves recording field data accurately, maintaining field equipment, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality protocols at project sites. The Field Assistant will help coordinate logistics for field visits, interact with local stakeholders when needed, and support preparation of basic field summaries and documentation. This position requires frequent travel to project locations around Hyderabad and a willingness to work in diverse outdoor conditions.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess basic fieldwork skills, including site survey assistance, sampling, and accurate data recording.
  • Candidates should possess fundamental knowledge of groundwater, hydrology, geology, or environmental studies, gained through education or practical exposure.
  • Candidates should possess familiarity with GPS devices, basic mapping tools, or simple remote sensing and GIS applications (training can be provided).
  • Candidates should possess ability to follow technical instructions, support equipment handling, and assist in implementing safety procedures on-site.
  • Candidates should possess strong observation, documentation, and communication skills to report field conditions and findings clearly.
  • Diploma or bachelor's degree in geology, environmental science, civil engineering, or related field is preferred.
  • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods, travel to field sites, and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Prior internship or field experience in water resources, environmental, or geotechnical projects is an advantage.
