Job Description

Join Firmwide Financial Controllers to drive strategic data and platform transformation across Finance, Credit Risk, and Treasury. You will shape the Banking Book roadmap, improve data quality, and deliver monthly releases through strong product ownership and governance. This role offers broad stakeholder exposure and the opportunity to build scalable, cloud-enabled data foundations.

As a Banking Book Product Owner Analyst within Firmwide Financial Controllers (FFC) on the Business Architecture team, you will partner with lines of business, SMEs, and technology teams to translate product and data needs into scalable Finance and Risk solutions. You will prioritize the Banking Book roadmap, manage monthly release delivery, and apply disciplined program and change governance across data acquisition, testing, and adoption. You will drive data quality, lineage, and process improvements to strengthen decision-useful reporting and operational efficiency.

Job Responsibilities

  • Prioritize Banking Book product backlog and define a roadmap aligned to Finance and Risk data acquisition objectives.
  • Write business requirements as user stories with clear acceptance criteria to enhance data, testing, reporting automation, and analytics toolsets.
  • Partner with developers to translate business needs into technical specifications and validate delivered outcomes.
  • Manage release plans covering scope, milestones, resourcing, test strategy, execution readiness, and stakeholder activities.
  • Collaborate with lines of business to understand products, data capture, and strategic sourcing into cloud-based big data architecture.
  • Drive adherence to product, SDLC, and release management standards and operating models.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and produce supporting documentation to enhance end-user experience.
  • Coordinate with implementation leads, release managers, project managers, and data SMEs to align data/system flows with Finance and Risk applications.
  • Oversee SDLC execution from requirements through testing and deployment to ensure seamless integration and delivery.
  • Analyze datasets to identify trends and support decisions while strengthening data governance, quality, and management practices.
  • Support DQ analysis and remediation activities by tracking issues, actions, and outcomes through to closure.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of experience in product ownership or project management focused on process re-engineering.
  • Demonstrate Product Owner experience and strong working knowledge of agile principles and delivery of complex programs.
  • Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to rapidly assimilate business and technical knowledge.
  • Use Jira and Microsoft Office effectively to manage workflow, documentation, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Communicate complex concepts clearly to diverse audiences through strong written and verbal communication.
  • Manage multiple workstreams concurrently with strong organization, sound judgment, and a risk mindset.
  • Operate effectively under pressure with high attention to detail and ownership of deadlines and deliverables.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Leverage SQL and data tooling experience, including Databricks and visualization/analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, Alteryx, Python).
  • Apply knowledge of traditional credit products (e.g., loans, deposits, cash) and/or trading products (e.g., derivatives, securities).
  • Demonstrate experience as a product lead in Finance, Risk, or Operations within financial services.
  • Apply familiarity with liquidity and credit reporting data and related sourcing/controls.
  • Demonstrate understanding of financial and regulatory reporting processes.
  • Utilize basic knowledge of cloud technologies (e.g., AWS).
  • Promote strong data governance and lineage practices to support auditability and sustainable controls.
