Designer – Couture Embroidery & Surface Development

At Zari Embroideries, we collaborate with leading international couture, bridal and eveningwear houses to create intricate embroideries that blend exceptional craftsmanship with contemporary luxury.

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Designer – Couture Embroidery & Surface Development who is passionate about embroideries, textiles, embellishment techniques and couture craftsmanship.

This role is ideal for a Fashion Designer or Textile Designer with a strong understanding of surface ornamentation and an eye for luxury aesthetics.

What You'll Do

* Develop embroidery concepts, motifs and placements for couture, bridal and eveningwear collections.

* Create illustrations and embroidery layouts using Procreate and Adobe Creative Suite.

* Design embroidery placements on garment silhouettes and collaborate on collection developments.

* Coordinate embroidery sampling and communicate developments with artisans and production teams.

* Work closely with tailoring teams on bespoke and made-to-measure couture orders.

* Prepare client presentations, design catalogues and collection decks using Canva, Adobe InDesign and Photoshop.

* Interpret international designer references and translate them into commercially viable embroidery developments.

* Maintain design records, development archives and sampling documentation.

What We're Looking For

* Background in Fashion Design, Textile Design or Surface Design.

* Strong interest in couture embroideries, embellishments and luxury craftsmanship.

* Proficiency in Procreate, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.

* Excellent illustration and visual storytelling skills.

* Understanding of embroidery techniques, materials, textures and garment construction.

* Ability to create aesthetically refined presentations for international luxury clients.

* Strong organisational and communication skills.

* Prior experience with couture, bridal, occasionwear or embroidery export houses is highly preferred.

Portfolio Requirements

* Embroidery-focused design projects.

* Surface development and embellishment concepts.

* Eveningwear, bridal or couture design illustrations.

* Creative presentation and storytelling ability.

* Technical understanding of embroidery placements and garment applications.
