Key skills include creativity, technical sewing/pattern-making knowledge, and proficiency in software like Adobe Illustrator.Core ResponsibilitiesTrend Research & Forecasting: Analyzing market trends, consumer needs, and industry reports to predict future styles, fabrics, and colors.Design Development: Creating conceptual sketches, mood boards, and digital illustrations (CAD) to develop new product lines.Technical Design (Tech Packs): Creating detailed technical specifications, including measurements, materials, and sewing instructions for production.Fabric & Trim Selection: Sourcing and choosing materials, textiles, and patterns that align with design concepts and budget constraints.Prototype & Sample Review: Overseeing the creation of prototypes, conducting fittings on models, and adjusting designs for final production.Production Oversight: Collaborating with manufacturers, vendors, and production teams to ensure quality control.Required Skills and QualificationsTechnical Skills: Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD software; knowledge of garment construction, sewing, and pattern cutting.Creativity and Artistic Ability: Strong sense of style, color, and texture.Communication & Collaboration: Ability to work closely with design, marketing, and production teams.Education: A bachelor's degree in fashion design or a related field is often preferred.Job Context
