Faculty Recruitment – Assistant Professor

Institute of Management Technology (IMT) Hyderabad invites applications from accomplished and committed academics who aspire to contribute to a vibrant institution dedicated to excellence in management education, impactful research, and responsible leadership development.

Faculty members are expected to contribute to the Institute's mission through high-quality teaching, impactful research, curriculum innovation, student mentoring, executive education, management development programmes, consultancy, and institutional service. Applications are invited for the position of Assistant Professor in the following areas:

Specialisation/Area and Indicative List of Courses Offered

1) IT & Analytics

Core Courses: Business Statistics, Information Technology for Managers, Data Analysis and Decision Making. Electives: Machine Learning, Business Forecasting, Visual Analytics, Big Data Analytics, Web and Text Analytics, Deep Learning, Blockchain for Managers, Decision Analytics.

Needed Specialisation / Technical Skills: MS Excel, Power BI, Tableau, IBM SPSS, R Studio, Python.

2) Marketing Management

Core Courses: Marketing Management. Electives: Services Marketing, Brand Management, Marketing Research, Marketing Analytics, Sales and Distribution Management, Marketing Metrics.

3) Organisational Behaviour & Human Resource Management

Core Courses: Organisational Behaviour I & II, Human Resource Management. Electives: Competency Mapping, Talent Planning & Acquisition, Managing Workplace, Organisation Change and Development, Performance Management, Industrial Relations & Labour Laws, Learning and Development, Compensation and Benefits, Managing Across Cultures, Psychometrics and Behavioural Research, Strategic HRM.

4) Business Communications

Strategic Corporate Communication, Digital and Cross-Cultural Communication, Persuasive Communication (Speaking, Writing and Reporting), Leadership Communication.

5) Operations Management

Core Courses: Operations Management, Operations Research, Supply Chain Management. Electives: Project Management, Logistics Management, Lean Six Sigma, Service Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, Retail Supply Chain Management, New Product Development.

The Institute is particularly interested in candidates whose teaching and research interests align with contemporary business priorities such as Digital Transformation, Sustainability & Corporate Social Responsibility, and Leadership Development.

 

Eligibility and Experience

Candidates should possess an outstanding academic record throughout and hold a Postgraduate degree in Management or allied disciplines, along with a PhD/FPM from a reputed institution or university. Applicants should demonstrate familiarity with contemporary industry practices and challenges and provide evidence of quality research and publications. Candidates who have submitted their doctoral theses may also apply. Such candidates may be offered a temporary appointment and will be placed in the Assistant Professor position upon successful award of the doctoral degree.

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation will be comparable to AICTE norms and Institute policies and will be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and demonstrated academic achievements. Faculty members are eligible for a comprehensive range of benefits, including House Rent Allowance (HRA), medical insurance, employer contribution towards Provident Fund/New Pension Scheme (NPS), Faculty Development Assistance, and financial support for participation in national and international conferences, as per Institute norms.

The Institute also offers monetary incentives for publications in reputed journals and case-writing outlets. Faculty members are encouraged to undertake industrial consultancy assignments under the Institute's consultancy policy on a revenue-sharing basis.

Faculty Expectations

Faculty members are expected to teach approximately 140 hours per academic year. In addition, they are expected to maintain an active research agenda, publish in reputed journals indexed in recognised quality lists such as ABDC, earn the prescribed research performance points, conduct Management Development Programmes (MDPs), undertake consultancy assignments, and contribute to institutional development and governance activities.
