Samundra Institute of Maritime Studies (SIMS) was established with an aim at developing a pool of high calibre seafarers trained at all levels to work in the increasingly demanding shipping industry.

Role Description

Providing hands on training, taking regular classes & sharing practical experience with GME, B. Tech (Marine Engineering) & DNS cadets.

Conducting various post Sea courses scheduled by SIMS.

Taking charge of Ship-in-campus and marine Workshop department - Technical as well as administrative aspects.

Routine maintenance & upkeep of equipment & machineries related to SIC / Marine workshop.

Commissioning of various Marine & workshop equipments and systems, repairing, commissioning & testing for functional aspects.

Responsible for preventive & breakdown maintenance of equipment which includes defect analysis, trouble shooting and quality control check of various machineries.

Co-ordination with store & purchase for various requirements.

Qualifications

Sailor should be Certificate of competency holder issued by Government Of India as MEO Class I with oil/Chemical DCE.
