Job Description : Freelance Faculty for Introduction to Business Analytics – MBA Business Analytics Program

Position: Freelance Faculty (Part-Time / Hourly Basis)

Location: Gurugram, Haryana

Role Summary

Edept Operations is seeking an experienced industry practitioner or academic to teach Introduction to Business Analytics for First Semester MBA-BA students. The course is fully lab-based (0-0-6), emphasising hands-on application of analytical tools and business intelligence platforms from week one.

Key Responsibilities

•       Deliver lab/workshop-format sessions per week on business analytics fundamentals

•       Cover key topics: data literacy, descriptive analytics, dashboarding, business metrics, KPI design, and introduction to BI tools

•       Teach practical application using tools such as Excel (advanced), Power BI, Tableau, or Google Data Studio

•       Design case-based assignments and project work drawn from real business scenarios

•       Introduce students to analytical thinking frameworks used in consulting and management contexts

•       Evaluate student outputs through project deliverables, presentations, and lab assessments

•       Coordinate with the Edept academic team on curriculum alignment and student progress

Qualifications & Experience

•       MBA / M.Sc. in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, Business Analytics, or equivalent

•       Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience in BI, analytics consulting, data analysis, or management reporting

•       Working proficiency in Power BI or Tableau, and advanced Excel

•       Strong ability to contextualise data analysis within business decision-making frameworks

•       Clear communication skills suited to postgraduate classroom instruction

•       Teaching or corporate training experience preferred

Preferred / Added Advantage

•       Experience in analytics consulting with exposure to FMCG, banking, retail, or operations sectors

•       Familiarity with Python or R for introductory data wrangling (not mandatory but valued)

•       Prior MBA-level teaching or guest lecturing experience

Compensation

As per Edept standard visiting faculty rates; commensurate with qualifications and experience
