Factory System Integration Engineer.
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Systems Integration Engineer to lead process design and project execution for MES-to-test-equipment integration initiatives. This role will be responsible for defining and delivering enterprise-grade integration blueprints that support manufacturing execution, test automation, traceability, and audit compliance across multiple sites and equipment vendors.
The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on experience in manufacturing systems, test equipment integration, and regulated enterprise environments, with the ability to operate as both a technical leader and project manager.
Key Responsibilities
Process Design & Architecture
- Design end-to-end MES-to-test-equipment integration architectures, including data flow, control logic, and system boundaries.
- Define standardized integration blueprints for multi-vendor test equipment environments.
- Establish canonical data models for lot, unit, test session, measurements, and results.
- Ensure alignment with ISA-95 / Industry 4.0 principles.
MES & Test Equipment Integration
- Lead integration of MES platforms with automated and semi-automated test equipment.
- Define and implement interfaces using SECS/GEM, REST APIs or file-based mechanisms as required.
- Ensure real-time data capture for test results, equipment state, alarms, and events.
- Partner with equipment vendors to validate interface compliance and robustness.
Traceability, Compliance & Audit
- Design systems that provide full traceability (lot unit test measurement).
- Ensure solutions meet audit, compliance, and data integrity requirements (e.g., SOX, internal audit, quality systems).
- Define logging, timestamping, user attribution, and immutable record requirements.
- Support audit reviews and compliance assessments as a technical subject matter expert.
Project & Program Execution
- Own project planning, execution, and delivery for MES integration initiatives.
- Coordinate across IT, manufacturing, quality, engineering, and external vendors.
- Manage scope, risks, dependencies, and timelines.
- Drive requirements definition, design reviews, and implementation milestones.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Act as the primary technical interface between IT, manufacturing operations, and test engineering teams.
- Evaluate vendor solutions and integration approaches.
- Support RFPs, technical assessments, and onboarding of new test equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with Siemens OpCenter and ZNT PAC Automation is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in manufacturing systems, MES, or test automation environments.
- Proven experience integrating MES with test or manufacturing equipment.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing traceability and genealogy.
- Hands-on experience with one or more of the following:
- SECS/GEM
- REST / HTTP APIs
- Experience operating in regulated or audit-sensitive enterprise environments.
- Strong project management and cross-functional leadership skills.
