Job Description

Production & Plant Operations

  • Oversee daily factory operations to achieve production targets, quality benchmarks, and delivery timelines.
  • Drive production planning and control based on plant capacity and demand forecasts.
  • Monitor downtime, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, materials, and machinery.
  • Lead injection moulding and blow moulding operations for rigid plastic packaging.

Quality & Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with GMP, ISO, SEDEX, BRCGS, EMS, OHSAS, SA8000, and IMS standards.
  • Participate in internal and external audits and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure adherence to statutory and regulatory requirements applicable to pharma packaging.
  • Maintain high product quality standards meeting customer specifications.

Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement

  • Implement Lean Manufacturing and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Drive cost reduction in raw materials, utilities (steam, power), and process waste.
  • Lead process optimization through HAZOP, JSA, risk assessments, and PSM practices.
  • Promote continuous improvement culture using structured frameworks.

Project & CAPEX Management

  • Lead CAPEX projects to enhance productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.
  • Manage installation, commissioning, and validation of new equipment.
  • Coordinate with vendors for equipment selection, engineering approvals, and execution.
  • Ensure projects are delivered within timelines and approved budgets.

Maintenance & Engineering Coordination

  • Coordinate preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Ensure maximum equipment availability and reliability.
  • Support troubleshooting and technical improvements.
  • Oversee implementation of QMS, EMS, OHSMS, and safety systems.

Safety & Environment

  • Develop and periodically review SOPs, SMP, JSA, and HAZOP studies.
  • Lead process safety initiatives and support PHA activities.
  • Drive safety audits, compliance checks, and corrective action tracking.
  • Promote environmental sustainability and safe workplace practices.

Planning & Budgeting

  • Prepare and manage departmental budgets covering consumption ratios, maintenance cost, and resource planning.
  • Monitor financial performance and implement cost control measures.

Customer Centricity

  • Ensure quantity and quality compliance for internal and external customers.
  • Manage customer complaints and coordinate resolution with technical teams.
  • Promote customer-focused culture within plant operations.

People Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop cross-functional teams.
  • Identify competency gaps and facilitate training programs.
  • Encourage employee engagement, recognition, and grievance handling.
  • Build strong second-line leadership and succession planning.
