Fabric Manager oversees the end-to-end lifecycle of textiles in apparel and manufacturing. They are responsible for sourcing high-quality materials, negotiating vendor contracts, managing inventory, and ensuring all fabrics meet the production standards required for bulk garment or product manufacturing.Key ResponsibilitiesSourcing & Procurement: Identify suppliers, negotiate pricing/delivery terms, and manage seasonal fabric libraries and product development samples.Quality Control: Ensure all materials meet compliance standards, coordinate fabric testing, and resolve quality issues with mills.Inventory & Consumption: Monitor stock levels, track fabric consumption to minimize wastage, and maintain accurate ERP/database documentation.Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate daily with design, merchandising, and bulk production teams to align on seasonal calendars and manufacturing targets.Qualifications & RequirementsEducation: Degree or diploma in Textile Technology, Fashion Design, Supply Chain, or a related field.Expertise: Deep knowledge of fiber types, textile construction, finishes, and performance characteristics.Skills: Strong vendor management, analytical thinking, and cost-analysis abilities, along with proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems.If you are looking to hire for this role or format a job posting, tell me:What industry are you in (e.g., fast fashion, export house, home furnishings)What level of experience are you targetingDo you need this role to focus more on sourcing or quality control
