Fabric Manager oversees the sourcing, development, quality, and procurement of textiles, acting as the bridge between design teams, suppliers, and production. They are responsible for managing fabric records, negotiating prices, meeting lead times, reducing waste, and ensuring compliance with quality standards to support efficient manufacturing.
Velvet JobsVelvet Jobs +3Key ResponsibilitiesSourcing & Development: Identify new materials, source high-quality fabrics, and manage the fabric development process from development to bulk production.Negotiation & Purchasing: Negotiate pricing, minimum order quantities (MOQs), and lead times with suppliers to minimize costs.Quality Control: Monitor fabric quality, ensure proper testing (lab dips, shrinkage, weight), and address quality issues.Production Coordination: Plan fabric requirements per production schedule, track deliveries, and manage vendor performance.Inventory Management: Maintain accurate fabric records, manage warehouse inventory, and minimize waste/excess inventory.Reporting: Prepare and present reports on seasonal booking, fabric status, and cost improvement initiatives.
