Role Description The Fabric Inventory Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai, responsible for overseeing and optimizing the fabric and trims inventory that supports Deme's end-to-end production workflow. Day-to-day tasks include tracking stock levels, recording fabric movements, and maintaining accurate inventory records across sourcing, sampling, production, and dispatch. The role involves coordinating with design, production, and procurement teams to forecast fabric requirements, monitor usage, and prevent stockouts or overstock situations. The Fabric Inventory Manager will implement and refine inventory control systems, conduct regular physical audits, and reconcile discrepancies between system data and actual stock. Additional responsibilities include supporting vendor management for fabric-related purchases, ensuring quality checks at receipt, and generating inventory reports to inform planning and purchasing decisions.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Inventory Control and Inventory Management skills to oversee fabric stock, ensure accuracy, and maintain organized storage systems.
• Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills to interpret inventory data, forecast material requirements, and support decision-making for procurement and production planning.
• Candidates should possess effective Communication and Customer Service skills to collaborate with internal teams, coordinate with suppliers, and respond promptly to production and styling needs.
• Candidates should possess proficiency with inventory software or ERP tools, as well as basic Excel or spreadsheet skills to manage stock records and generate reports.
• Candidates should possess strong attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving abilities to handle fast-paced, deadline-driven fashion production environments.
• Relevant experience in fashion, textiles, or apparel production, and familiarity with different fabric types and trims, is highly beneficial.
• A diploma or degree in Fashion Management, Textiles, Supply Chain, or a related field is preferred, along with the ability to work on-site in Mumbai.
