Job Description

General Responsibilities

  • Ensure has acknowledged handovers from previous shifts
  • Demonstrate pride at work place with a high level of commitment towards achieving organizational objectives
  • Treats all guests and colleagues in a polite and courteous manner at all times. Prompt, caring and helpful manner
  • Anticipate guest's needs wherever possible and react to these timely
  • Promote a helpful and professional image to the internal and external customer
  • Ascertain a high level of guest satisfaction (ensure zero complaints of department)
  • Use guest names whenever appropriate
  • Has a good knowledge of different types of both Food & Beverage Menu.

Specific Responsibilities

  • In the absence of a Manager, conducts shift briefings to ensure hotel activities and operational requirements are known
  • Endeavor to resolve all complaints during shift and logs all complaints in a logbook for further follow-up
  • Oversee all front and back of the house restaurant operations
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through promoting excellent service; respond to customer complaints tactfully and professionally
  • Supervise cash handling procedures
  • Prepare daily banking and cash flow reports
  • Supervise the maintenance of service equipment
  • Monitor standards of guest facilities and services
  • Control stock and monitor security procedures
  • Assist with menu and wine list creation
  • Supervise outlet service
  • Works with Restaurant, Talent & HR Manager to ensure the departmental performance of staff is productive. Duties include:
  • Conduct on the job training in accordance with the departmental standards and procedures and maintains a record of progress for each staff member
  • Provide input for probation and formal performance appraisal discussions in line with company guidelines
  • Ensure new staff attend Corporate Orientation within the first month of hire
  • Assist with the implementation of departmental induction for new hires
  • Assist with the preparation of efficient departmental work schedules
  • Coach, counsel and discipline staff in breach of policies and departmental procedures, providing constructive feedback to enhance performance
  • Works with superior in the preparation and management of the department's budget and is aware of financial targets
  • Recycles where-ever possible and enforces cost-saving measures to staff
  • Seek ways to cut wastage and decrease operational costs without compromising the quality
  • Generates weekly, monthly, and annual reports
  • Responsible for maintenance and cleanliness of the Bar and Beverage trolley
  • Carry out any reasonable duties as instructed by the Restaurant Manager
