Job Description

Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Eye Surgeon (Ophthalmologist) to join our medical team. The successful candidate will diagnose, manage, and treat conditions and diseases affecting the eye through both surgical and non-surgical methods. This role requires a high level of precision, strong patient communication skills, and a commitment to delivering the highest quality of eye care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform surgical procedures to treat a variety of eye conditions, including cataracts, glaucoma, retinal disorders, corneal diseases, and eye trauma.
  • Conduct pre-operative and post-operative assessments and consultations.
  • Diagnose and manage both acute and chronic eye conditions.
  • Prescribe medications, corrective lenses, and other non-invasive treatments.
  • Use specialized diagnostic tools such as slit lamps, retinal cameras, and OCT scanners.
  • Collaborate with optometrists and other specialists to coordinate patient care.
  • Maintain detailed patient records and documentation in compliance with medical standards and regulations.
  • Stay current with developments in ophthalmology through continuing education and professional development.

Qualifications

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a residency in Ophthalmology.
  • Board certification (or eligibility) in Ophthalmology.
  • Valid and unrestricted medical license to practice in [state/country].
  • Fellowship training in a subspecialty (e.g., retina, cornea, oculoplastics) is a plus.
  • Experience in conducting pre-operative and post-operative assessments and consultations.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and managing both acute and chronic eye conditions.
  • Expertise in prescribing medications, corrective lenses, and other non-invasive treatments.
  • Skilled in using specialized diagnostic tools such as slit lamps, retinal cameras, and OCT scanners.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with optometrists and other specialists to coordinate patient care.
  • Proven ability to maintain detailed patient records and documentation in compliance with medical standards and regulations.
