About the Role:
In this role, you will be responsible for handling international shipments, customs-related processes, freight negotiations, and maintaining compliance with Indian EXIM policies while supporting business continuity throughefficient supply chain execution. You willmanage and streamline end-to-end export and import operations, ensuring smooth logistics movement, regulatory compliance, and effective coordination with all external stakeholders.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and oversee the complete EXIM function, ensuringseamless coordination of international trade operations aligned with business requirements.
- Develop and implement efficient import-export processes to improve operational effectiveness, reduce delays, and optimize cost.
- Manage relationships with freightforwarders, shipping lines, CHAs, CFAs, and logisticspartners to ensure high service standards and smooth execution.
- Monitor shipment timelines proactively and drive timelyescalation/resolution of logistics bottlenecks.
- Ensure all import/export activities comply with statutoryrequirements, customs regulations, trade agreements, and internal governance standards.
- Interpret changesin Indian EXIM policy and customs regulations and assess theirimpact on business operations.
- Lead freight and logistics cost negotiations, annualrate contracts, and vendor performance reviews.
- Drive documentation accuracy across invoices, packinglists, bills of entry, shippingbills, certificates of origin, and regulatory filings.
- Coordinate with finance, procurement, warehouse, and supplychain teams to ensure alignmentin shipment planning and inventory movement.
- Track logistics costs, duties,taxes, and landedcost components to support budgeting and cost control initiatives.
- Build strong controls to minimize compliance risks, shipment delays,demurrage, and detention charges.
- Support strategic sourcing decisionsby evaluating international logistics feasibility and import dependencies.
- Lead audits related to import-export transactions and ensure readiness for regulatory inspections.
- Prepare MIS reports on shipment status,freight costs, customsclearances, and operational performance for leadership review.
WHATARE WE LOOKING FOR
- 710 years of relevantexperience in export-import operations, logistics, and international trade compliance.
- Strong understanding of IndianEXIM policy, customsregulations, and documentation processes.
- Hands-on experience working with CHAs, CFAs, shipping lines, and freightforwarding partners.
- Strong negotiation skills with freight agenciesand logistics service providers.
- Excellent coordination and communication skillsfor managing multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to handle shipmentplanning, compliance, and issue resolution independently.
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial, energy, or high-growth sectors will be preferred.
