Role Overview: We are looking for an experienced Export Business Development Manager whose primary responsibility will be to identify, develop, and acquire new international customers for our engineering products and services.
This is a front-end business development role focused on creating business opportunities, building relationships with overseas buyers, and generating export orders. Commercial quotations, order execution, export documentation, and logistics are managed by the internal team.
Key Responsibility:
International Business Development
- Identify and acquire new overseas customers across target markets.
- Generate qualified export enquiries through LinkedIn, trade portals, exhibitions, industry databases, referrals, and direct outreach.
- Develop relationships with OEMs, distributors, EPC contractors, importers, and industrial buyers.
- Conduct cold outreach via email, phone, LinkedIn, and virtual meetings.
- Schedule and coordinate meetings between prospective customers and the management team.
Market Development
- Identify new export markets, industries, and customer segments.
- Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and identify emerging business opportunities.
- Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of qualified international prospects.
Customer relationship manager
- Build long-term relationships with prospective overseas customers.
- Maintain regular communication and follow-ups to nurture leads.
- Support the conversion of qualified opportunities into confirmed purchase orders by coordinating with internal stakeholders.
Brand and Market visibility
- Represent the company at international trade fairs, exhibitions, buyer-seller meets, and networking events.
- Increase MKA Engineers & Exporters visibility among global engineering buyers.
- Support the company's presence on relevant B2B sourcing platforms and international business networks.
Internal Co-ordination
- Understand customer requirements and coordinate with technical and management teams during the initial business development stage.
- Ensure a smooth handover of qualified opportunities to the commercial and execution teams once business discussions progress.
Must have:
- Proven experience in acquiring overseas/export clients for an Indian company.
- Demonstrated success in generating international B2B business opportunities and securing export orders.
- Experience working with an Indian exporter in the engineering, industrial manufacturing, fabrication, precision components, capital equipment, or related sectors is strongly preferred.
- Candidates with an existing network of international buyers, distributors, sourcing partners, or OEMs will have a distinct advantage.
- Excellent communication, networking, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to independently identify business opportunities, build relationships with international customers, and convert them into export business.
- Willingness to travel internationally to meet prospective customers, attend trade exhibitions, and develop new business opportunities.
- Self-motivated, target-driven, and capable of working independently.
