Export and Market Access Expert
Experience required in export promotion, domestic market linkages, trade facilitation, or MSME market development
Role Summary
The Export and Market Access Expert will lead strategic initiatives to enhance both export and domestic market access for MSMEs. The role involves enabling MSMEs to participate in global and domestic value chains through market intelligence, export facilitation, e‑commerce linkages, partnerships with corporates and Government agencies, and organising buyer–seller interactions. The expert will support MSMEs to become market‑ready, competitive, and visible across local, national, and international markets.
Key Responsibilities
1. Export Readiness & Documentation Support
- Guide MSMEs on export documentation, compliances, quality standards, packaging norms, and statutory requirements.
- Provide hands‑on assistance for IEC, DGFT processes, customs procedures, and product certifications.
- Conduct export readiness assessments and develop enterprise improvement plans.
2. Domestic Market Access & Business Development
- Support MSMEs in identifying new domestic markets (B2B, B2C, institutional buyers).
- Facilitate linkages with Large corporates, Government procurement systems (GeM), Retail chains, distributors, wholesalers, State and national‑level fairs, Haats, Expos etc
- Guide MSMEs on product positioning, pricing, packaging, branding, and sales strategy.
3. E‑Commerce & Digital Market Integration
- Facilitate onboarding of MSMEs on - Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), Domestic e-commerce platforms (Amazon, Flipkart, JioMart, etc.), Social commerce (Instagram, Facebook etc)
- Support product cataloguing, digital branding, order management along with ecommerce players.
4. International Market Access
- Identify and map emerging global markets, buyer preferences, and export opportunities.
- Facilitate MSME participation in International trade fairs / trade shows, Global exhibitions, Delegation visits.
5. Organizing Buyer–Seller Interactions
- Plan and execute Reverse Buyer–Seller Meets (RBSM), Domestic and international B2B meetings, Vendor development programmes, Corporate procurement meets
- Support MSMEs in product showcase, sampling, and pricing negotiations.
6. Export Promotion Schemes & Incentives
- Guide MSMEs on accessing Central/State schemes as DGFT incentives, EPC support programmes, MSME Export Promotion schemes, FIEO/EPC programmes etc
- Assist in applying for ECGC insurance, export credit, logistics subsidies, and packaging support.
7. Partnership Development
- Build and sustain partnerships with public and private institutions as Export Promotion Councils (EPCs), FIEO, EEPC, ECGC, Logistics Service providers, Freight forwarders, E‑commerce companies, Supply-chain partners, Large corporates seeking MSME vendors etc
8. Capacity Building & Training
- Facilitate training on Export fundamental, Domestic sales and branding, E-commerce readiness, Payment, insurance and logistics options, Packaging and quality compliance
- Prepare simple training modules, SOPs, and resource materials for MSMEs.
9. Monitoring, Data & Reporting
- Track participation in fairs, meetings, and B2B interactions.
- Document success stories and market linkage outcomes.
- Provide monthly progress reports with qualitative and quantitative indicators.
C. Qualifications & Experience
- Master's degree in International Trade, Marketing, Business, Economics or related field.
- Minimum 10 years experience in export facilitation, market development, supply chain, corporate procurement, or MSME market linkages.
- Strong domain understanding of DGFT processes, EPC functioning, trade documentation, domestic retail system, and digital commerce.
