THE POSITION:
Scientific Communications is a critical function within Medical Affairs that supports the appropriate use of pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, medical device, and emerging therapeutic products by ensuring the accurate dissemination of scientific evidence. This is achieved through the development of timely, balanced, evidence-based, and non-promotional publications intended for healthcare professionals and the broader scientific community.
A key responsibility within this function is the development, management, and delivery of high-quality scientific publications and related medical and scientific content. This position is accountable for leading publication-focused scientific writing activities and supporting client engagements related to publication strategy and execution.
The role requires strong expertise in scientific and medical writing, particularly within publications, along with a solid understanding of clinical data interpretation and communication. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. Additionally, this role may be required to support content creation and review support for Medical Information. This is a full-time, home-office-based role located in India, and candidates must be authorized to work in India.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
The requirements listed below are representative of the experience, education, knowledge, skill and/or abilities required.
• Education: PharmD (or M. Pharm. or M.S. Pharm), PhD, or MD with scientific / medical writing and content development experience
• Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of experience in publications and medical writing
• Demonstrated experience in Scientific Publications (Acknowledgements for Scientific Writing) • Direct Medical Publications / Medical Communications / Medical Information / Scientific Communications experience
• Exceptional communication skills include written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills including the ability to independently interpret and summarize complex results.
• Ability to effectively interface with all levels of management and staff and to succeed in a matrix team setting while meeting or exceeding timelines.
• Familiarity with AMA Style guide as well as an understanding of clinical research principles and applied statistics. Familiarity with International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), Good Publication Practices (GPP), and other medical publishing guidelines (e.g., Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA), Strengthening the Reporting of Observational Studies in Epidemiology (STROBE), Consolidated Standards of Reporting Trials (CONSORT) etc.
• Proficient editing skills along with expertise in Microsoft Office, Acrobat and other applications. • Experience conducting literature searches and working with tools such as PubMed, Ovid, Embase, etc.
• Experience working with reference management and citation software (e.g., EndNote, Mendeley, Citavi, etc.)
• Experience working with Publications Management system Datavision / iEnvision / PubStrat and Veeva Vault MedComms / PromoMats
• Ability to conceptualize, design and deliver best in class solutions
• Highly Principled - Proves to be a professional of unquestionable integrity, credibility and character who demonstrates high moral and ethical behavior
• Collaboration – Ability to work cross functionality across EVERSANA business units and with various clients, including leadership and various departments and functions of our clients
