Key Responsibilities
- Flight Management Product Expertise
- Serve as a subjectmatter expert on Amadeus FM (W&B, Aircraft Models, Rules Engine).
- Understand internal FM functional architecture, data flows, interface messages, and product configuration principles.
- Stay updated on new FM releases, regulatory changes, and industry best practices.
- Assist in incident resolution and provide guidance for complex operational scenarios.
- Be part of the crucial Flight Safety process and contribute to Flight Safety
- Functional Analysis & Design
- Analyze airline requirements and translate them into FM functional configurations.
- Work with solution architects and development teams on new FM capabilities and enhancements.
- Recommend corrective measures and long-term improvements to enhance system stability and precision.
- Validate functional specifications and ensure alignment with airline operational needs.
- Perform impact analysis for change requests and propose optimal solutions.
- Collaboration & Customer Engagement
- Work directly with airline operations teams to understand their procedures and constraints.
- Conduct functional workshops on FM modules and system capabilities.
- Provide recommendations to optimize airline operations through better FM configuration.
- Support cross-functional teams including Product Management, Engineering, QA, Customer Success, and Airline Implementations.
- Participate in RFP and RFI discussions.
- Perform impact analysis for change requests and propose optimal solutions.
- Act as a trusted advisor for airline stakeholders during implementation and post-go-live phases.
- Documentation & Knowledge Sharing
- Create and maintain functional documentation, configuration guides, and best practice manuals.
- Contribute to internal knowledge bases and training materials for FM modules.
- Mentor junior team members and provide functional training sessions.
- Continuous Improvement & Innovation
- Identify opportunities for process automation and functional optimization.
- Collaborate on innovative initiatives such as AI-driven load planning and predictive analytics.
- Engage in product roadmap discussions and provide feedback based on airline operational trends.
Required Skills & Experience
Must-Have Domain Skills
- Strong expertise in Flight Planning, Weight & Balance, Load Control.
- Experience with Amadeus FM or similar systems (Smart4Aviation, Mphasis Weight & Load Balancing, NavBlue Flysmart+ ) with preference for Amadeus.
Skills
- Ability to interpret aircraft performance tables and operational constraints.
- Good analytical skills (Python/SQL is an advantage).
- Experience with cloud or distributed systems is a plus.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
- Ability to work with cross-site, cross-functional teams (BLR/LON/other sites).
- Detail-focused with high accuracy standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Aeronautics, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- 12+ years of experience with Amadeus Flight Management or airline flight operations systems.
- Experience in airline load control operations is an added advantage.
- Familiarity with airline operational KPIs and business drivers (fuel efficiency, OTP, payload optimization).
