Job Description Technical Architect (Kernel Android/Linux) Position: Technical Architect Kernel (Android/Linux) Experience: 1215 years Location: Pune, Bangalore Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in Electronics, Electrical, or related field Role Summary Looking for an experienced Kernel Architect to lead the technical direction of kernel and BSP development across Android or Embedded Linux platforms. The role involves driving kernel architecture decisions, defining migration strategies, ensuring platform stability, and guiding cross-functional teams through complex integrations and performance improvements. Key Skills & Experience
- Expert in Linux/Android kernel architecture and subsystems
- Strong C/C++ programming and debugging skills at the kernel level
- Proven experience in BSP or kernel migration and version upgrades
- Understanding of system-level design, driver framework, and hardwaresoftware interaction
- Familiarity with build systems (Make, Bazel), patch workflows, and source management (Git/Gerrit)
- Experience in impact analysis, defect root-cause, and optimization
- Exposure to Android platform integration or Embedded Linux productization
- Ability to define best practices and review system-level design decisions Responsibilities
- Define and own the kernel architecture and design roadmap across Android versions
- Lead Android version migration efforts - including kernel, BSP, and driver adaptation between releases
- Review and approve technical designs, patches, build configurations, and integration plans
- Collaborate with BSP, middleware, and hardware teams to ensure seamless integration and platform stability
- Conduct impact analysis and performance evaluations for kernel and subsystem changes across versions
- Mentor engineers, review deliverables, and enforce best practices in debugging and code quality
- Represent the kernel function in technical discussions, client reviews, and architectural planning Preferred Skills
- Experience with Android Automotive or Embedded Linux systems
- Knowledge of performance optimization, power management, and GKI
- Strong analytical, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills
