Experienced Associate

Role Summary

Entry-level tax professional responsible for preparing federal, state, and international tax returns, including individual (Form 1040), partnership (Form 1065), and corporate (Form 1120) filings. Supports engagement teams with compliance, research, and documentation under firm methodology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare basic US federal and state tax returns, including individual (Form 1040), partnership (Form 1065), and corporate (Form 1120) returns, in accordance with firm standards.
  • Assist in gathering, organizing, and validating client data and supporting documentation.
  • Populate tax software and complete required workpapers and tie outs accurately.
  • Follow standardized templates, checklists, and processes for compliance work.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Basic knowledge of accounting and auditing requirements.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and documentation integrity.
  • Ability to learn tax software and apply firm policies effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication for documentation and inquiries.

Education & Credentials

  • CPA or EA (Enrolled Agent) certification preferred or in progress.
  • 2–4 years of progressive tax compliance experience.

Delegation / Decision Authority

  • Executes assigned tasks under supervision of seniors or managers.
  • No independent authority for client or compliance sign-off.

Notes

Builds a foundation in compliance and documentation accuracy while developing familiarity with tax law and return preparation processes.
