Experienced Associate - Financial Services Group
Role Summary
Experienced professional responsible for executing audit procedures under GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), GAAS (Generally Accepted Auditing Standards), and PCAOB (Public Company Accounting Oversight Board) standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform substantive testing and analytical procedures in accordance with GAAS and PCAOB standards.
- Prepare audit workpapers that support financial statements prepared under GAAP.
- Identify potential issues and escalate appropriately.
- Support junior associates as a buddy and guide them on audit processes.
- Begin performing basic review of work prepared by entry level associates.
- Ensure compliance with professional and firm ethical standards during all engagement phases.
Core Skills & Competencies
- Basic knowledge of accounting and auditing requirements.
- Attention to detail and adherence to firm documentation standards.
- Ability to execute audit programs and communicate findings clearly.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Education & Credentials
- 2-4 years of audit expertise in US Public Accounting Firm preferably with Financial Services experience – hedge fund, funds or fund and equity fund .
- Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Qualified CPA or Candidates pursuing CA / CPA.
Delegation / Decision Authority
- Required to complete assigned tasks under supervision and must notify their supervisor if anything unusual or unexpected occurs.
- Not expected to make independent decisions that impact clients or budgets.

Develops strong grounding in traditional audit standards and control testing under GAAP, GAAS, and PCAOB.
