General description of role:

The leader of the expatriate insurance offering is responsible for crafting, developing, and managing Aon India's insurance solutions built for expatriate populations. These clients include global mobility employees, international assignees, and remote cross-border workers in IThis role ensures products are market-competitive, compliant, and profitable. It also aligns products with client needs and strengthens the firm's position as a leading adviser and broker in the international insurance sector for expatriates. space.

Job responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ensuring the Expatriate Product portfolio growth (premium, revenue, number of clients) Negotiate product terms, service standards, and commissions/fees aligned with firm objectives and client interests.
  • Develop and own the product strategy for expatriate insurance solutions (e.g., medical, life, disability, travel, evacuation, supplemental cover).
  • Conduct market and competitor analysis to identify gaps, opportunities, and emerging trends in global mobility and expatriate benefits.
  • Act as the internal go to expert on expatriate insurance products and market developments.
  • Provide strategic product guidance on key client pitches, renewals, and RFPs.
  • Support client, broking and sales teams with product training, sales tools, and product messaging.
  • Participate in client meetings, thought leadership events, and industry forums as a subject matter expert.
  • Build and manage relationships with insurers, MGAs, and other providers of expatriate solutions.
  • Monitor carrier performance (service levels, underwriting approach, claims management) and escalate/resolve issues as needed.
  • Ensure products and related materials comply with local and international regulatory requirements (e.g., licensing, cross-border insurance rules, data privacy).

Key Performance Indicators

  • Growth in related premium/revenue and portfolio size with focus on new revenue
  • Client satisfaction/Net Promoter Score (NPS) for OPD and health solutions.
  • Adoption and penetration of OPD products among target client segments.
  • Engagement, retention, and development of the OPD product team

Skills/competencies required:

  • 10 + year experience in insurance or employee benefits, with a strong focus on expatriate / global mobility, international private medical insurance (IPMI), or cross border benefits.
  • Proven track record in product management, proposition development, or technical broking in an insurance or broking environment.
  • Experience working with multinational clients and global carriers, ideally across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex stakeholders and leading cross functional initiatives.
  • Deep understanding of expatriate insurance structures (group/individual), underwriting approaches, pricing drivers, and claims dynamics.
  • Knowledge of global mobility trends (remote work, short term assignments, commuters) and their impact on insurance and compliance.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and tax considerations around cross border insurance (e.g., local policy requirements, admitted vs. non admitted, data privacy considerations).
  • Strong leadership presence and ability to influence across senior stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating complex concepts clearly to both technical and non technical audiences.
  • Effective presenter and facilitator in internal and external settings.
