Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for an Executive Sous Chef based in Salem. The Executive Sous Chef will manage daily culinary operations, supervise kitchen staff, and ensure consistent food preparation and presentation. Responsibilities include menu planning, inventory control, maintaining kitchen hygiene and safety standards, and collaborating with the Head Chef to create exquisite dishes. The Executive Sous Chef will also mentor and train kitchen staff, oversee food cost management, and contribute to providing an exceptional dining experience.

Qualifications

  • Proven expertise in culinary techniques, food preparation, and presentation
  • Strong leadership, teamwork, and staff management skills
  • Experience in menu planning, menu development, and innovative dish creation
  • Proficiency in kitchen safety, hygiene practices, and food sanitation standards
  • Knowledge of food cost management, inventory control, and supplier relations
  • Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Culinary certification or degree from a recognized culinary institution is preferred
  • Previous experience in a leadership role within a high-end or luxury hotel kitchen is an advantage
  • Passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences and maintaining quality standards
