The Executive - Mechanical Engineering will play a vital role in maintaining the smooth functioning of our Container Freight Station. They will be responsible for overseeing transport maintenance, ensuring accurate inventory management, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to optimize our operations. A strong focus on safety and operational efficiency is essential for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily transport maintenance operations, ensuring all equipment is in good working condition.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of inventory, including spare parts and equipment.
  • Proactively coordinate with internal teams to ensure seamless maintenance and procurement processes.
  • Liaise with external vendors and suppliers to source and procure necessary equipment and parts.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and guidelines across all maintenance activities.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and address potential issues or inefficiencies.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize operational efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to design and implement innovative solutions for maintenance challenges.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to maintenance staff, ensuring their professional development.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices, and incorporate them into our maintenance processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a logistics or transportation industry.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, maintenance procedures, and safety standards.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a collaborative and safe work environment.
  • Proficiency in using maintenance management software and MS Office suite.
  • Good understanding of inventory management principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder coordination.
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve maintenance issues.
