Position Title: Executive Director
Reports To: Board of Directors
Location: Preferably based out of Delhi/Uttarakhand - Ranikhet
Position Overview: Genie Trust seeks an accomplished, compassionate, and visionary leader to serve as Executive Director. This role offers an opportunity to lead a mission-driven organization dedicated to meaningful social impact and community advancement.
The Executive Director will provide strategic, operational, and financial leadership while upholding the organisation's values, integrity, and commitment to service. The successful candidate will inspire confidence among stakeholders, foster a culture of collaboration and respect, and guide the organization toward sustainable growth and long-term impact.

Key Responsibilities:
● Strategic Leadership
● Provide thoughtful and forward-looking leadership aligned with the organization's mission, vision, and values.
● Work closely with the Board of Directors to develop and implement strategic priorities and long-term organizational goals.
● Identify opportunities for growth, partnerships, and enhanced community engagement.
● Ensure that all programs and initiatives reflect the organization's commitment to excellence, accountability, and social impact. Organizational Stewardship
● Oversee the effective and efficient management of the organization's operations, programs, and administrative functions.
● Lead, mentor, and support staff with professionalism, fairness, and respect.
● Foster an inclusive and collaborative workplace culture that values dignity, diversity, and teamwork.
● Encourage professional development and organizational learning across all levels. Financial Management ● Ensure prudent financial stewardship and long-term sustainability of the organization.
● Develop and oversee annual budgets in partnership with the finance team and Board.
● Maintain transparent financial reporting and ensure compliance with all applicable legal and regulatory standards.
● Monitor organizational performance and implement responsible financial practices. Fundraising & Resource Development
● Serve as a trusted ambassador for the organization among donors, partners, foundations, and community stakeholders.
● Lead fundraising initiatives, donor engagement, grant development, and strategic partnerships.
● Cultivate meaningful and enduring relationships that support the organization's mission and growth.
● Promote a culture of philanthropy grounded in trust, transparency, and shared purpose. Board Relations & Governance
● Maintain a respectful, collaborative, and transparent relationship with the Board of Directors.
● Support effective governance practices and provide timely updates, strategic recommendations, and operational insights.
● Assist the Board in fulfilling its fiduciary and leadership responsibilities. Community Representation
● Represent the organisation with professionalism, humility, and integrity at public events, meetings, and community engagements.
● Strengthen relationships with government bodies, community leaders, partner organizations, and stakeholders.
● Advocate thoughtfully for the organization's mission and the communities it serves. Compliance & Ethical Leadership
● Ensure adherence to all legal, ethical, and regulatory obligations applicable to the non-profit sector.
● Uphold the highest standards of integrity, accountability, and organizational ethics.
● Promote responsible governance, transparency, and risk management practices.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, Social Sciences, or a related discipline (Master's degree preferred).
● Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive leadership experience, preferably within the non-profit or social impact sector.
● Demonstrated success in organizational leadership, strategic planning, and team management.
● Proven experience in fundraising, donor engagement, and financial oversight.
● Excellent communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder engagement skills.
● Strong judgment, diplomacy, and the ability to lead with empathy and professionalism.
