Job Description (JD) – Executive – Commercial Planning & Pricing
Department: Commercial / Business Finance / E-commerce

About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Commercial Planning & Pricing Executive who will own product costing, pricing governance, margin tracking, promotional planning, and commercial execution across marketplaces and D2C channels. The role is critical in ensuring pricing accuracy, profitability, and commercial discipline while supporting business growth.
Key Responsibilities
1. Product Costing & Commercial Readiness
Prepare and maintain accurate product cost sheets.
Ensure costing is completed before product launch timelines.
Review and update cost revisions based on vendor, logistics, and operational changes.
Validate costing assumptions and highlight risks impacting profitability.
2. Pricing Management & Marketplace Governance
Execute pricing updates across all sales channels.
Maintain pricing accuracy and consistency across marketplaces and D2C platforms.
Monitor pricing compliance and prevent unauthorized pricing discrepancies.
Coordinate with category, marketing, and operations teams for timely pricing changes.
3. Margin & Profitability Management
Track product-level and channel-level margins.
Identify margin leakage and profitability risks.
Ensure negative margin situations are flagged before activation.
Maintain weekly profitability and margin reports.
4. Deals, Coupons & Promotional Planning
Create and manage promotional campaigns, discounts, and coupon structures.
Ensure deal setup accuracy across platforms.
Evaluate promotional profitability and post-campaign performance.
Coordinate timely activation and closure of campaigns.
5. Commercial MIS & Governance
Maintain commercial dashboards and weekly MIS reports.
Ensure all costing, pricing, and promotional activities are managed through approved systems.
Support commercial audits and process compliance.
Escalate pricing, margin, or commercial risks proactively.
Required Skills
Strong analytical and numerical skills.
Advanced Excel / Google Sheets proficiency.
Experience with marketplace seller panels (Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, etc.).
Understanding of pricing, costing, P&L, and margin calculations.
Attention to detail and process-oriented mindset.
Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field.
2–5 years of experience in Commercial Planning, Pricing, Business Finance, Category Operations, or E-commerce Operations.
Experience in D2C, Fashion, Retail, or E-commerce brands preferred.
