Job Title: Executive Chef
Location: Resident on campus at Pathways World School, Gurgaon

Requirement:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Executive Chef to lead the culinary operations at Pathways World School, which is a residential international school in Gurgaon. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in large-scale vegetarian menu planning, team leadership, food safety compliance, and budget management. This role demands a commitment to quality, innovation in institutional catering, and the ability to deliver nutritious, cost-effective meals to students, staff and parents in a high-volume environment..
Key Responsibilities:
- Kitchen Operations & Staff Management: Oversee all kitchen operations and workflows while leading, training, and supervising kitchen staff to maintain performance standards, hygiene, food handling safety, and allergen labeling compliance.
- Food Safety & Compliance: Ensure full compliance with HACCP standards and all health and safety regulations, maintaining detailed records such as temperature logs, sanitation checklists, and training documentation.
- Team Management & Recruitment: Lead, recruit and mentor the F&B team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Menu & Nutrition Planning: Develop and regularly update seasonal vegetarian menus that are nutritionally balanced, age-appropriate, cost-effective, and appealing to students and staff, in collaboration with dietitians and nutritionists.
- Meal Production & Event Catering: Manage large-scale daily meal production along with catering for special school functions and celebrations, ensuring consistency in taste, quality, presentation, portion control, and timely service.
- Budgeting & Cost Control: Monitor food procurement, inventory, vendor negotiations, and kitchen efficiency to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints while minimizing waste and preparing MIS reports on financial performance.
- Feedback & Quality Assurance: Create effective channels to gather and respond to feedback from students, staff and parents, driving continuous improvement in food quality, service standards, and overall dining satisfaction.
- Business Development: Explore and implement external catering opportunities for events and institutions beyond the campus, maintaining excellence in service while ensuring profitability and alignment with brand standards.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum 10 years in large-scale/institutional catering with at least 5+ years in leadership roles
- Degree or diploma in Culinary Arts, Hotel Management, or related field.
- Certification in food safety such as HACCP, ServSafe, or equivalent is preferred.
- Flexibility to adapt menus and operations to meet the needs of different dietary requirements.
- Understanding of food safety, sanitation regulations, and institutional dietary requirements.
- Financial acumen in budgeting, cost control, and inventory management.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and lead a team through high-volume meal preparation and service.
Others:
- This is a full-time, residential position based at the school campus.
- The role requires a six-day work week, from Monday to Saturday.
- Responsibilities include overseeing daily meal services (breakfast, lunch, snacks, dinner), managing pantry and tuck shop operations, and executing special catering requirements for daytime and evening school events.
Expected CTC:
Rs. 14 to 18* lakh per annum
