Executive Chef

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and visionary Executive Chef to lead the culinary team at Stillwood Retreat, Coorg. The role is responsible for overseeing all culinary operations across the resort, delivering exceptional dining experiences that blend authentic local flavors with international culinary excellence. Working closely with the resort leadership team, the Executive Chef will drive innovation, maintain the highest standards of food quality and hygiene, develop and inspire culinary talent, and ensure every dining experience contributes to exceptional guest satisfaction and the resort's commercial success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver unique culinary experiences that celebrate the flavors and heritage of Coorg while incorporating global culinary influences.
  • Lead and oversee all culinary operations across the resort, including the all-day dining restaurant, wine lounge, bar, in-room dining, and banquet operations.
  • Maintain the highest standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene, and kitchen organization.
  • Drive sustainable sourcing practices and ensure responsible procurement of ingredients.
  • Monitor inventory, food costs, quality standards, and guest feedback to maintain operational excellence.
  • Develop innovative menus and dining concepts that enhance the guest experience and strengthen the resort's market positioning.
  • Train, mentor, and inspire the culinary team, fostering a culture of creativity, authenticity, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and company standards.
  • Collaborate with the resort leadership team to support business objectives and guest satisfaction goals.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of experience as an Executive Chef or Senior Sous Chef within a luxury resort or upscale hospitality environment.
  • Strong expertise in multi-cuisine operations; knowledge of local Coorgi cuisine will be an added advantage.
  • Proven leadership experience managing culinary teams within remote or nature-integrated resort environments.
  • Strong understanding of food cost management, menu engineering, kitchen operations, and quality control.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing culinary teams.
  • Passion for culinary innovation, guest satisfaction, and delivering exceptional dining experiences.
  • Quality-driven, highly organized, and committed to operational excellence.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
