Role Description The Excise & Accounts Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Kashipur. This position supports day-to-day excise compliance and accounting operations, including maintaining excise records, assisting with statutory returns, and ensuring adherence to relevant regulations. The role involves handling daily accounting entries, processing vendor and customer invoices, managing petty cash transactions, and supporting credit control activities such as follow-up on receivables. The Excise & Accounts Assistant will reconcile accounts, assist in preparing periodic financial reports, and coordinate with internal teams, auditors, and external authorities as needed. The individual will also help maintain organized documentation, update spreadsheets and accounting software, and contribute to process improvements in the finance function.

Qualifications

  • Strong accounting skills, including basic bookkeeping, general ledger posting, and familiarity with accounting software.
  • Foundational finance knowledge to support budgeting, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Experience with credit control, including monitoring receivables and assisting with collections.
  • Ability to manage petty cash, maintain accurate cash books, and support cash and bank reconciliations.
  • Effective communication skills for coordination with internal teams, auditors, vendors, and government authorities.
  • Knowledge of excise or indirect tax compliance in a manufacturing or beverages environment is an advantage.
  • Diploma or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and basic office productivity tools, with strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
  • Ability to work on-site full-time in Kashipur, manage deadlines, and handle sensitive financial information with integrity.
