Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Exadata Database Administrator to design, implement, and manage mission-critical Oracle Exadata database solutions across on-premises and multicloud environments. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Exadata hardware, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), database migrations, performance tuning, and high availability architectures, while also providing technical leadership and mentoring.

Key Responsibilities

Exadata & Database Architecture

  • Design implement and manage Exadata Cloud Service ExaCS database solutions Develop and maintain database architecture strategies aligned with business and IT goals.
  • Design and implement database consolidation strategies to reduce infrastructure footprint and optimize OPEX.

Cloud & Migration

  • Lead and execute large-scale database migrations to Exadata (ExaCS / ExaCC) platforms.
  • Plan and perform database migrations to Oracle Autonomous Database (ATP/ADW).
  • Architect and integrate databases across multicloud environments including Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.

Performance, Availability & Scalability

  • Ensure high availability, scalability, and optimal performance of database platforms.
  • Conduct performance tuning, capacity planning, and system optimization.
  • Implement and manage Data Guard (Physical & Logical) and Data Guard Broker for disaster recovery.

Exadata Hardware & Advanced Technologies

  • Implement and manage Exadata X9 hardware, including Persistent Memory (PMem) and RDMA technologies to reduce latency and improve performance.
  • Deploy and manage Exadata X11 (X11M / X11M-98) platforms, leveraging scale-out database servers and intelligent storage servers.
  • Perform RAC and RAT testing, ASM administration, and advanced Exadata troubleshooting.

Security & Compliance

  • Implement and manage database security solutions including TDE, Audit Vault, and Oracle Key Vault (OKV).
  • Perform regular security assessments, compliance checks, and audit readiness activities.

Operations & Leadership

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (application, infrastructure, security, and cloud teams) to deliver end-to-end database solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior DBAs and database architects.
  • Stay current with latest Oracle database, Exadata, and cloud technology advancements.

OS & Storage

  • Strong hands-on experience with Linux and Solaris OS administration.
  • Knowledge of virtualization, storage technologies, ZFS, and Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliance (ZDLRA).

Required Skills & Experience

  • Extensive 7 plus years of experience as an Oracle DBA / Exadata DBA / Database Architect.
  • Deep hands-on expertise with Oracle RAC, ASM, Exadata performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong experience in ExaCS, ExaCC, and Autonomous Database (ATP/ADW).
  • Proven experience with large-scale database migrations and database consolidation initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of multicloud database architectures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Oracle certifications (OCP / OCM / Exadata or OCI certifications).
  • Experience with automation and scripting (Shell, Python, or similar).
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
