Job Description

Job Title: Event Marketing Specialist

Location: Bangalore, India

Department: Marketing

Reporting To: Marketing Manager

Position Summary

The Event Marketing Specialist will be responsible for planning, executing, and measuring the effectiveness of trade shows, customer events, seminars, webinars, roadshows, and strategic marketing campaigns across India. The role requires strong project management capabilities, customer-centric event planning skills, digital marketing understanding, CRM proficiency, and the ability to collaborate with sales, product management, inter-department, external agencies, and industry partners.

The ideal candidate should possess experience in B2B marketing within capital goods, industrial machinery, manufacturing technology, automation, metrology, machine tools, industrial software, or related sectors.

Key Responsibilities

Event & Trade Show Management

Plan and execute national and regional trade shows, exhibitions, conferences, roadshows, customer days, technology seminars, and partner events.

Manage end-to-end event execution including budgeting, venue coordination, booth planning, logistics, agency management, branding, collateral development, and stakeholder communication.

Coordinate booth design, fabrication, transportation, installation, and dismantling activities.

Develop event timelines, project plans, risk assessments, and execution checklists.

Collaborate with product managers, sales teams, and application engineers to ensure successful event participation.

Manage vendor relationships including exhibition agencies, event partners, logistics providers, printers, and production houses.

Ensure consistent ZEISS brand standards across all event touchpoints.

Customer Engagement & Campaign Planning

Develop targeted customer engagement plans for events and seminars.

Coordinate invitation campaigns, registration management, attendance tracking, and customer follow-ups.

Work closely with regional sales teams to identify key accounts and target audiences.

Support customer journey planning before, during, and after events.

Coordinate executive visits, customer meetings, VIP programs, and networking activities during events.

Digital Marketing & CRM Integration

Utilize Salesforce CRM for campaign creation, lead capture, lead qualification workflows, and reporting.

Ensure all event-generated leads are accurately captured, assigned, and tracked through the sales funnel.

Monitor campaign performance metrics including registrations, attendance, lead conversion, opportunity creation, and revenue contribution.

Coordinate event landing pages, email campaigns, and registration platforms.

Support digital promotion activities through LinkedIn, email marketing, webinars, WhatsApp channels, and other B2B digital platforms.

Plan and execute social media campaigns to increase event visibility and customer engagement.

Lead Management & Marketing Analytics

Develop pre-event, during-event, and post-event lead management strategies.

Track marketing-qualified leads (MQLs), opportunity conversions, and pipeline contribution.

Prepare comprehensive post-show reports including:

  • Event ROI
  • Lead quality analysis
  • Opportunity creation
  • Revenue attribution
  • Customer engagement metrics
  • Competitive intelligence
  • Recommendations for future events
  • Maintain dashboards and report through Salesforce and other marketing platforms.

Content & Marketing Communication

  • Coordinate development of event communication materials including:
  • Invitations
  • Event agendas
  • Presentations
  • Brochures
  • Case studies
  • Customer success stories
  • Social media assets
  • Support webinar and seminar content planning.
  • Create executive-ready PowerPoint presentations and management reports.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure messaging consistency.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Sales, Product Management, Applications, Service, and Business Development teams.
  • Coordinate with regional and internal marketing teams on campaign alignment and event participation.
  • Support strategic marketing initiatives and customer engagement programs.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Business Administration, Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.
  • MBA in Marketing preferred.

Experience

  • 3–6 years of experience in B2B Event Marketing, Trade Show Management, or Marketing Communications.
  • Experience within capital goods, industrial machinery, manufacturing technology, machine tools, metrology, automation, industrial software, or engineering sectors preferred.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale exhibitions, customer events, and technical seminars.
