Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Desktop System Implementation:
- Deploy, configure, and optimize desktop systems, including workstations, virtual desktops (VDI), and related infrastructure solutions. Ensure solutions are implemented per project specifications, meeting performance and security requirements.
- System Upgrades & Migrations:
- Lead the technical aspects of OS upgrades, hardware replacements, and platform migrations. Work closely with other teams to plan and execute seamless transitions with minimal disruption to operations.
-Automation & Scripting:
- Develop and implement automation scripts (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) to streamline system imaging, software deployment, and patch management for desktop systems.
-System Integration & Configuration:
- Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate desktop systems into the broader IT infrastructure, including Active Directory, cloud services, and enterprise applications.
-Security & Compliance:
- Ensure desktop systems are secure, compliant with organizational policies, and meet industry standards for endpoint protection, encryption, and access control.
-Documentation & Reporting:
- Document the design, configuration, and deployment processes of desktop systems. Ensure that post-project reviews and technical documentation are created and maintained for future reference.
- Required Skills & Qualifications:
- - 5+ years of experience in desktop infrastructure, system administration, or IT engineering.
- - Expertise in administering Windows, macOS, and Linux desktop systems.
- - Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., Citrix).
- - Familiarity with desktop management tools (e.g., SCCM, Intune, JAMF, SALT, SOTI or similar).
- - Strong understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy, and cloud services (e.g., Azure).
- - Experience with security best practices, endpoint protection, and compliance frameworks.
