Role Overview

The ETS800 Test Engineer will be responsible for developing, qualifying, and maintaining production test solutions for mixed-signal and power management semiconductor devices on the Teradyne ETS800 ATE platform. The role spans all phases of the test engineering lifecycle — from test plan development and hardware design through software development, silicon bring-up, debug, correlation, and sustaining support.

The engineer will work within a high-performing global cross-functional team under the mentorship of senior test engineers and will interface directly with design, characterization, product engineering, and customer teams. As an early member of Anora's expanding Bangalore center, this position offers career growth and visibility unmatched in larger organizations.

Key Responsibilities

ATE Test Program Development — Teradyne ETS800

Develop, debug, and optimize test programs on the Teradyne ETS800 ATE platform for mixed-signal and power devices.

Implement test methods for DC parametric, AC timing, functional, and RF/analog measurements using ETS800 test resources.

Write test flows using the ETS800 test framework (C++/Python-based); manage revision control and participate in code reviews.

Develop and validate test limits based on datasheet specifications and characterization data.

Perform test time optimization using parallelism, concurrent testing, and time-domain multiplexing techniques.

Mixed-Signal Test Engineering

Develop ATE-based test solutions for ADCs, DACs, LDOs, op-amps, comparators, and voltage references on ETS800.

ADC/DAC: SNR, SFDR, THD, DNL, INL, ENOB measurements using coherent and non-coherent DSP methods.

LDO/PMIC: Load regulation, line regulation, PSRR, transient response, quiescent current.

Op-Amp/Comparator: Offset voltage, CMRR, PSRR, slew rate, bandwidth, noise spectral density.

Implement DSP-based signal analysis including FFT, windowing, and curve-fitting algorithms for analog characterization.

Ensure measurement accuracy and guard-banding through careful noise floor analysis and DUT board design.

Power Device Test Engineering

Develop test coverage for power management ICs: DC-DC converters (buck, boost, buck-boost), LDOs, battery chargers, gate drivers, and load switches.

Efficiency and power loss measurement across load and input voltage sweeps.

Switching frequency, duty cycle, dead-time, and soft-start characterization.

Over-current protection (OCP), over-voltage protection (OVP), under-voltage lockout (UVLO) threshold verification.

Thermal derating and junction temperature estimation under high-current test conditions.

Manage high-current test conditions (multi-ampere levels) safely using Teradyne ETS800 resources and load boards.

Apply safe operating area (SOA) guidelines to prevent DUT damage during parametric sweeps.

Hardware — Load Board & Interface Design

Design, review, and debug DUT load boards (DIBs) for the Teradyne ETS800 including analog signal routing, power planes, bypass/decoupling, and RF shielding.

Define and validate analog/power interface circuits: current sense resistors, bulk capacitors, inductors, current mirrors.

Perform load board schematic review and layout guideline definition in collaboration with PCB design teams.

Characterize load board parasitics (trace inductance, capacitance) and apply compensation in the test plan.

Set up and validate contactors, sockets, and probe cards; perform contact resistance and leakage checks.

Test Correlation & Characterization

Perform ATE-to-bench correlation for all critical parameters; analyze and reduce correlation deltas.

Support product characterization and process corner analysis (SS, TT, FF) across temperature and voltage.

Execute guard-band analysis and set production test limits to balance yield and quality (DPPM targets).

Analyze parametric distributions, generate SPC charts, and track yield trends over product lifetime.

Sustaining & Yield Improvement

Investigate and resolve production yield excursions, test escapes, and outlier failures.

Perform failure analysis in collaboration with design and product engineering teams.

Drive continuous test time reduction and hardware cost optimization for high-volume production.

Maintain test program and documentation changes through a formal ECO / change control process.

Requirements & Skills

Educational Qualification

Bachelor's degree (B.E. / B.Tech) in Electronics, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering.

ATE Platform & Test Environment

Hands-on experience with the Teradyne ETS800 ATE platform is strongly preferred.

Familiarity with other Teradyne platforms (J750, Ultra FLEX) or Advantest (V93000) is a plus.

Proficiency in ETS800 test plan development: pattern generation, timing setup, analog resource configuration.

Experience with ATE site controllers, handler interfaces (GPIB, PCI, LAN), and ETS800 utility software.

Mixed-Signal & Power IC Test Knowledge

3–6 years of hands-on ATE test engineering for mixed-signal and/or power management semiconductor devices.

Deep understanding of analog measurement fundamentals: noise, impedance, bandwidth, signal integrity.

Experience testing ADCs, DACs, LDOs, PMICs, DC-DC converters, gate drivers, or battery management ICs.

Software & Scripting

Proficient in Python for ATE automation, data analysis, and instrument control.

C/C++ for Teradyne ETS800 test program development and custom measurement algorithm implementation.

Version control using Git;

Experience with data analysis tools: JMP, Spotfire, or Python (pandas/matplotlib) for yield and parametric analysis.

Hardware & Lab Skills

Strong hands-on skills with bench instruments: precision DMMs, LCR meters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, SMUs, power supplies, electronic loads.

PCB schematic reading and layout review; able to identify and correct signal integrity and power delivery issues on load boards.

Experience with high-current, high-voltage test setups and adherence to lab safety standards.

Familiarity with thermal measurement techniques: thermal cameras, thermocouples, Tj estimation.

Tools & Systems

Experience with EDA tools for schematic review (Allegro, Altium, or KiCad).

Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, or equivalent tools for project tracking and documentation.

Understanding of semiconductor manufacturing flow: wafer sort, final test, burn-in, and qualification (AEC-Q100 / JEDEC).
