Position: ETP cum WRP Engineer / Senior Operator
Department: Utilities / Environment Management
Reports To: Plant Head / Utility Manager
Role Objective
To manage and optimize the operation of the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) cum Water Recovery Plant (WRP) in a textile manufacturing environment, ensuring Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) compliance, maintaining prescribed water treatment parameters, and achieving cost-effective treatment with accurate documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor ETP cum WRP units to ensure uninterrupted functioning.
- Maintain treatment parameters at different stages of effluent treatment specific to textile effluents (dyes, chemicals, COD/BOD load).
- Oversee complete ZLD operation including RO, MEE, ATFD, etc.
- Maintain daily records of chemical consumption and water balancing.
- Document treated water results and ensure compliance with statutory norms.
- Support audits, inspections, and environmental compliance reporting.
- Implement cost-effective treatment practices without compromising quality.
Performance Measures
- Adherence to prescribed water treatment parameters.
- Cost efficiency in chemical and operational usage.
- Accuracy and completeness of treatment records.
- Compliance with ZLD norms and environmental regulations.
Technical Competencies / Skills
- Strong knowledge of ETP/WRP operations in textile industry.
- Understanding of textile effluent characteristics (dyes, sizing chemicals, auxiliaries).
- Knowledge of chemicals used in treatment and their safe handling.
- Familiarity with lab testing methods for water and effluent samples.
- Experience in ZLD plant operations (RO, MEE, ATFD, etc.).
- Ability to troubleshoot operational issues and optimize processes.
Candidate Profile
- Educational Qualification:
- 3-year Diploma in Chemical Engineering OR
- M.Sc. in Chemistry
- Experience: 56 years in ETP/WRP/ZLD operations (preferably in textile/pharma/chemical plants).
- Attributes: Detail-oriented, safety-conscious, proactive in problem-solving, and strong in documentation.
