About The Opportunity
We are hiring an on-site ETL Test Engineer to join a delivery-focused QA team responsible for validating complex data pipelines, ensuring data quality, and certifying BI/analytics outputs. The role is India-based and centered on hands-on ETL testing across batch and streaming integrations, regression suites, and production verifications.
Role & Responsibilities
- Design, develop and execute end-to-end ETL test cases for data ingestion, transformation, reconciliation, and reporting across relational and cloud data stores.
- Create test data sets, perform data profiling and validation using SQL/PL-SQL and automation scripts to verify business rules and transformation logic.
- Validate data lineage and reconciliation between source systems and data warehouse targets; identify and log data discrepancies with clear root-cause analysis.
- Develop and maintain automated ETL test suites and regression packs using ETL testing tools or SQL-based frameworks to accelerate release cycles.
- Collaborate with ETL developers, data architects, and business analysts to review requirements, clarify acceptance criteria, and validate fixes in UAT and production support.
- Report test progress, prepare test summary reports, and maintain test artifacts in test management tools; participate in agile ceremonies and release planning.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- Strong SQL and PL/SQL proficiency for complex data validations and transformations.
- Hands-on experience testing ETL tools such as Informatica PowerCenter, SSIS, or Talend.
- Practical knowledge of Data Warehousing concepts (star/snowflake schemas, slowly changing dimensions, partitions).
- Experience with UNIX/Linux for running scripts and troubleshooting ETL jobs.
- Proven ability in test case design, data validation, data profiling and reconciliation techniques.
- Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools such as JIRA.
Preferred
- Experience with data-focused automation tools like QuerySurge or custom SQL-driven automation frameworks.
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms (AWS Redshift, Azure Synapse, Google BigQuery) and related ETL patterns.
- Exposure to BI tools (Tableau, Power BI) for validating report-level data accuracy.
