ETL Test Lead

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the ETL testing team to ensure effective execution of testing processes.
• Define and drive testing strategies, methodologies, and best practices for ETL projects.
• Develop and oversee the creation of detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
• Validate data across multiple sources, ensuring accurate transformation and loading into target systems.
• Collaborate with development teams to understand system requirements and contribute to ETL design and mapping.
• Ensure high data quality by testing all aspects of extraction, transformation, and loading.
• Track, manage, and resolve defects in close coordination with developers and stakeholders.
• Mentor and support junior ETL testers, promoting skill development and performance growth.
• Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks for recurring test scenarios.
• Conduct complex data validation and reconciliation across various systems and databases.
• Execute performance and regression testing to evaluate ETL stability and scalability.
• Work with business analysts to align testing scenarios with business requirements.
• Generate test reports, dashboards, and documentation to communicate testing progress and defects.
• Identify process inefficiencies and recommend enhancements to optimize ETL testing practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 5+ years of ETL testing experience, with 2+ years in a leadership or team lead role.
• Extensive experience with ETL tools such as Informatica, Talend, or SSIS.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and architecture.
• Proficiency in SQL and hands-on experience with databases like Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
• Proven track record of creating and executing ETL test plans, test scripts, and test scenarios.
• Experience with data migration, data validation, and integration testing.
• Skilled in performance and regression testing, as well as defect tracking and management.
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.
• Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with test automation tools such as Selenium, QTP, or ETL-specific automation frameworks.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with cloud-based ETL platforms (e.g., AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, Google Cloud Dataflow).
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Relevant certifications in ETL testing or data quality.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated test integration tools.
