Job Description:

Role: ETL Test Engineer (Talend)

Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in ETL Test Engineer

Notice Period: ASAP

Work Location: Gachibowli, Hyderabad

Duration: Permanent (Payroll will be under the client itself)

Work Mode: Hybrid (4 WFO & 1 WFH)

Job Qualification:

• ETL Tools:Strong experience withTalend Data Integration(Open Studio or Enterprise).
• Database/SQL:Advanced SQL skills (Oracle, Snowflake, SQL Server, or Redshift). Ability to write scripts to automate record count and checksum comparisons.
• Talend Components:Familiarity withtLogCatcher,tStatCatcher,tSendMail, andtRunJob.
• Scheduling Tools:Experience with Talend Administration Center (TAC or external schedulers like Control-M, Airflow, or Autosys.
• Soft Skills:Strong analytical mindset to performRoot Cause Analysis (RCA)when a scheduled job fails.
• Automation of data validation using Python scripting.

Role Overview:

• We are looking for anETL Test Engineerwith strong experience inTalend Data Integration, data warehouse validation, job scheduling, and workflow validation. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring data accuracy, transformation correctness, performance efficiency, and stability of Talend jobs across environments.

Job Responsibilities:

1. ETL & Talend Job Validation

• Validate Talend ETL jobs (batch & incremental loads)
• Verify extraction, transformation, and loading logic
• Validate mapping documents against the Talend job design
• Review Talend components (tMap, tJoin, tAggregateRow, tFilterRow, etc.)
• Validate parameterized jobs and context variables

2.Talend Workflow & Job Orchestration Testing

• Validate Talend Job execution flows (parent-child jobs)
• Test pre-job and post-job triggers
• Validate error-handling workflows
• Verifyrestart abilityand failure recovery scenarios
• Validate dependency handling between jobs

3. Talend Job Scheduling Validation

• Validate job schedules via:

1. Talend Administration Center (TAC)
2. External schedulers (Control-M, Autosys, Cron)

4. Talend Logs & Reports Validation

• Validate:

1. Job execution logs
2. Error logs
3. Rejected record files
4. Audit tables

• Verify record counts:

1. Source count
2. Staging count
3. Target count

• Validate ETL reconciliation reports
• Verify alert notifications (email/SNMP triggers)

5. Performance & Volume Testing

• Validate large volume loads
• Measure job runtime vs SLA
• Validate incremental load performance
• Identify bottlenecks in joins and transformations
• Work with ETL developers for optimization

6. Automation & CI/CD

• Develop automated SQL validation scripts
• Build a reusable ETL test validation framework
• Integrate Talend job validation in CI/CD pipelines
• Automate reconciliation reporting

7. Source IntegrationTesting (SFTP / API / Email)

• Validate SFTP-based file ingestion (CSV, TXT, JSON, XML)
• Validate REST API-based data ingestion workflows
• Validate email-triggered or attachment-based file processing
• Verify schema validation and error handling
• Strong experience in validating SFTP-based file transfers and REST API-based data ingestion workflows, including payload validation and error handling.
